I'll be a bit late but I will of course be there!... but I've been up since 6am this morning which for me is an hour I didn't know existed except for on late nights at Hairy Mary's - so I hope you'll all keep me awake & entertained!

Cya later!

Mar 23 2007, 7:25 pm
Ok, so I was more like 3 hours late... But I still made it! if not mentally, at least physically...
So I didn't personally pass on the baton.. Was there any discussion on who's choosing next weeks venue? It basically goes that the first person to name a bar and its location gets to choose.
globalgirl
Mar 26 2007, 10:43 am
Seriously no one knows of any pub in Berlin that they'd like to share with us? Will take a look around myself tonight, but it would be lovely if someone could take hold of the baton for this week...

Last time I went to
Kreuzberg on a Thursday night, I stayed til the wee hours and got home using a bastard combination of bus, tram, and taxi. So, count me in.
(But Jen, there's no proper bourbon there. Shall I bring a bit of my own?)

Nate, I think you know the answer to that one. And now I have to show up! Way to step up to the plate, Gooner Gal. See everyone there.

Gorlitzer Banhof is not hard to get to and if everyone just remembers to check the time for their last trains home, it should be no problem at all. So expect to see everyone there, plus any newbies to Toytown thursday nights.

Plus it's not that far a walk to Kotbusser Tor, whence you can take the N8 bus to Hackescher Markt.

You could have suggested something this week in Charlottenburg. It was wide open to suggestions. I just jumped in as no one else did...how about you suggesting somewhere for next week?

That's a kind offer but I'll pass for a couple of weeks, I will join though when I'm not as skint and busy, definitely!

hi guys - I've wanted to join the thursday group for a while now - esp after doing a few crafty treffs and meeting cool TT people. If next thursday eve is warm, enough can we do the schleusenkrug biergarten? It's in the tiergarten and really super duper in my humble opinion...

ok, I just called the place.
"summer hours" start on 1st of April and then the biergarten closes at 1am.
If the weather is bad next Thursday there is also indoor seating...

Sooo..
Is it safe to say that we meet next week at The Schleusenkrug?
www.schleusenkrug.deThe Schleusenkrug is a 10 minute walk from the SBahn Zoo station. Upon exiting the station make a left heading into the Tiergarden.
About 150 meters down you'll see the beergarden with a bunch of bike racks+bikes outside.
where the name comes from...
"Schleuse" means "lock" (a devise for lowering or raising boats) and the beergarden is located right near the canal's lock.
sunny
Mar 30 2007, 8:13 pm
ok, maybe 100...?
I was a little distracted!
A 5 to 10 minute walk TOPS
Isn't it actually closer to the Tiergarten S-Bahn station?
I think I may have had a beer and a snack there on the way to Love Parade last year.
I've posted those annoying photos I kept snapping the other night:

looks like it's going to be a bit nippy this thursday. is there a plan b? public holiday on friday so i'll definitely try to make it.
possible plan b: we could go to a very german place underneath the s-bahn station at bellevue (i think). dont know what it's called, but it's ok (for the west). i'll try to bit more vague next time. god forbid people understand what i say.

The Schleusenkrug has indoor seating. I just made us a reservation for inside at 20uhr under "wolf".
I'll be there a little before 8 and will have paddington bear on the table for identification. If the weather is on our side we can move to the beergarden. end transmission.
