Yeh i´ve been to Lunas Strand Bar, it´s pretty good. You can be close to the music/band and dance, or sit a bit further away and still be able to talk to each other. And it´s not too expensive either. It´s got my vote!

Last time I was in Berlin, it was winter. So now I am certainly in favor of going to a Strand Bar.

Ahhh no dissenting opinions... Can editor bob or someone else with edit privileges include Luna's Strand Bar in the header now please?
Weather also seems to play along. CU all tomorrow.

I'll try and get there a bit earlier, with my cowboy hat if I remember (if not, myself and a couple people actually look like our profile photos, although my hair is really short now). If the first people to the bar could mention where we're sitting so that the bar staff can point us out to any new people.
I'll try and remember to bring along a paper that says 'Toytown' on it for the table too just in case as some times it gets a bit hard to find people at beachbar/beer gardens.
See you all tomorrow!

Quick introduction... I've been lurking on TT for a few weeks. I'm a Londoner arrived in Berlin last month for a few months. Planning to come down tonight around 8.30-9pm, work permitting, you certainly all sound like an entertaining crowd.

As some of you might already know, this Thursday will be my last Thursday Night Drinks before I leave this wonderful city and as well as this, it will also be my birthday fairly soon. As it happens, I also found the 'baton' again which seems to have been lost for some time..
Anyways, as a result of all this, I hope nobody minds if I suggest this weeks venue for a
"Final Thursday Night Drinks/Going Away Party/Birthday Party" all in one at:
Hairy Mary'sDiedenhoferstrasse 5, Prenzlauer Berg (Am Wasserturm)
U-Bahn: Senefelderplatz

Also so new people know, Hairy Mary's is the unofficial Toytown club house, so basically everyone in there will be part of the group so no need to worry about finding us.
See you all in a bit.

Not a newbie, but I'd like to make a suggestion: Zwiebelfisch on Savignyplatz. It's very down-to-earth, not too expensive, and I think it can hold all of us! The website is
here. Close to public transport as well.

Are you just going to keep suggesting Que Pasa on both Thursday Night Drinks and Alternative Thursday Night Drinks? Is it that good?

Aug 26 2008, 12:34 pm
Around Savignyplatz there is also
Zillemarkt on Bleibtreustr. Went there last night for a quick beer and it seemed ok. It has a beer garden out the back if it's nice weather and some tables on the pavement. Also has a British red phonebox inside.

Its that good..but obviously you've not been there yet, so why dont you give it a try?

Hi I am new here but I would suggest "Magnet" in Prenzlauer Berg.
Decently priced, depending on who is doing the bar you can smoke inside, and they have fussball tables.
And they sometimes negotiate prices for shots ;-)

How about this pool place I know in Sophien str. The Sophien club is just downstairs. Mind you I think its time that TT shared a venue with our alternative brothers. But maybe not in Que Pasa.

We usually end up going with the first suitable suggestion and I kinda like the the thought of getting out of the k-berg, p-berg, f-shain triangle for once. Any objections to Zwiebelfisch?

Where is Savignyplatz? The only one the address finder links me to is in Charlottenburg, but that CAN'T be right...
globalgirl
Aug 26 2008, 6:53 pm
We try not to have drinks in the same neighborhood more than 3 weeks in a row. They do normally happen more in the East as we get more suggestions for places there than in the West, probably cause that larger majority live there. But if there are locations that aren't overly expensive or too hard to get to a lot of us are willing to try them out, we just need someone to suggest them.
And yes paulbb, you are reading that correctly. I suggest we all grab our passports and overnight bags and make the trek into the unknown... Charlottenburg!!

So how about Cafe Dachkammer, Simon-Dach-Str. 39, 10245 Berlin. I can't seem to find a website, but there is a description on this

Dachkammer looks like a cool place, if it's indeed big enough for our noisy bunch it definitely has my vote.
ScotsLassinBerlin
Sep 2 2008, 11:45 am
They didnt like us last time, and the 2 times we went there, they had problems with the bills!
Plus we went to a bar on Simon Dach a few weeks ago and they made us move inside at 11pm, where space is limited for a large group like us.
But this is just my opinion!
