Thursday night drinks in Berlin

Hi, I've been in Berlin about 4 months but am new to this forum and the Thursday night drinks thing - would love to come along to Molotov this Thursday and meet people, how will I find you guys?

Sorry for the last minute email and intro. Got to Berlin a couple weeks ago, but I am just now getting settled in enough to take some time off. I'd love to meet up with the Moltov crowd...nothing against the Volksfest, but I am living in Dahlem at the moment and I'd rather head someplace less suburban for a drink Is there any special way I can recognize the Toytown crowd, aside from the rampant use of English?

If whoever shows up at the bar first can mention that they're with a group called Toytown and mention where you're sitting so that the new people can ask the bar staff.

I'll try and show up relatively early, and I'll try my dardest to bring my cowboy hat (I seem to always forget it when I say that tho...)

We do try to keep our eyes open for people who look a little lost so if you don't see us, we'll at least hopefully catch any newbies trying to find the group.

hm, another cocktail bar. do they allow frisbees and sixpacks in cocktail bars?

Ah-ha...our discussion about Monster Ronsons at the weekend obviously hit a nerve!...I'd be up for it, but not sure if my liver is...I definitely need to visit this place before my time in Berlin is up, that's for sure!!

Also didn't someone last Thursday mention possibility of somewhere outside? Weather report looks really good for Thurs so far.

Karaoke Bars are about public mortification with the add of a private audience. I don't think many people have the minerals to get up do a bar or two. Personally I have been banned for all you can eat counters (its not an add its a challenge) and Karaoke Bars.

How about somewhere on Simon-Dach-Str. or nearby so that afterwards we can head to Karaoke after enough drinks?

The weather forecast I saw said that it's going to start getting stormy thursday evening, so maybe on the safe side this week we pick somewhere that has an indoor option just in case.

I like the idea of Simon-Dach-str. Anyone know of any good cheap bars?

Just so you guys know this place is made of a bunch of private rooms (of varying sizes) that you rent by the hour. it might be a little strange with people coming and going, and who pays and so on, but i guess it could work.

I'm up for the karaoke some day soon, but maybe it's not the best thing for a Thursday night thing in that case.

Definitely up for somewhere in Simon Dach Str...haven't been there in ages.

Karaoke may work as a separate event with a sign up list so that it can be pre-arranged somewhat, maybe on another night too so we can make a night of it.

how about a place i know called "raumfahrer" on hobrechtstrasse, no. 54 in north neukölln, just south of the landwehrkanal. should be enough space there for everyone, and room to stand outside as well.

Well whenever the band starts playing, which probably won't actually be at 10, if they play at all, and if it sucks, we'll easily be able to assemble a migration down the street like we did last week.

It was great to meet so many nice people last night, i´ll definitely be back And i managed to spend only 16 Euros!

I don't know what everyone's problem was I thought the barman was lovely.

He was fine. 'Everyone's problem' was being told we had to go inside or leave at 11pm when drinks normally goes on well past that and we could have sat outside at any other bar on that street BUT the one we were in.

Nah. I was being sarcastic. He had a piss poor attitude.

4 years ago I used ot live above the Astro bar and I believe in that building there is a complaining tennant who always gets the cops out to both the Astro and Dach Kammer ovewr noise complaints.

Maybe that was why you guys were told to go inside at 11pm.

I am back for a long weekend in Berlin. Made sure that I have a flight on thursday so I can visit the 'famous' Thursday night drinks.

Anyone an idea for a location. I could give some suggestions, but since I am no longer living in berlin I am not sure if my old favorites are still the places to be.

Hope that you have a easy to reach location, so lots op ppl show up.

Someone last week did mention beach bars to me outside the strip bar that wasn't... would they be any good for a TT?

Found it on the web, haven't been there. Does anyone know the place? It features two beach volleyball courts
which could be fun, and Bring Your Own Food BBQ facilities. Simon Dach Straße is just round the corner so if the
weather turns nasty we could always seek shelter elsewhere.
