Thursday night drinks in Berlin

So can we get a confirmation on the place, time and address? just for us who tend to get lost easily.

Yo Karly/Schtubbs. Ya, I would be happy, but it's not actually in Kreuzberg and it's quite difficult to get to. Besides I've got a little cold that I don't really want to aggravate and my new record of 41-hours awake has finally caught up with me. Early night for me I'm afraid. Next Thursday probably, or maybe at the weekend.

i'm not really sure if my bar deas are to be trusted...i'm sort of new to this bar culture business.

Also there is another place i've been to in the same neighborhood, so if Franken sucks we could head there. I don't know the name of the place though. It's on Kottbuser Damm, and Maybachufer str. and it's like a boat that's tied up to the shore of the canal. Anybody know this place?

That'll be the Ankerklause. Drink one for me.

shoit, keep on thinking today is thursday for some reason. Should be well-rested by tomorrow night and might actually make it. Ankerklause u-bahn would be schönleinstrasse but the place is a bit small and usually quite full. but i do like the way people are thinking as it's not too far from my place.

So are we aiming for Franken then? have never been to either, but I'm a little hesitant on your description of 'a bit small' . space is normally a bit of a concern...

You can get out either Kottbusser Tor or Görlitzer Bahnhof (U1 - or is it still called U12?). Don't know how small the place is, but the area is kinda cool. SO36.

ach so, i thought people were going to that place on cotheniusstrasse. franken sounds good, i think i was there already as well. if memory serves, it's smaller than ankerklause...

Hi! Last night was great - about 10 people made it out to Franken. The pub is a bit small and the jukebox was playing some crazy stuff (at one point something with a chick screaming) but I had a great time.

I will note that I should have left a bit earlier - I wound up taking 4 night buses and a taxi home (3 hours later...) because I forgot about the night transport (as in there is NONE) situation in Berlin during the week. Oh well!

Sorry I didn't end up making it. Got a last minute invite to some dance show thingy.

Next week will be a big Thursday now that everyone should be back and recovered from New Years.

How are we all? What are the plans for this Thursday? I need to have something to look forward to as I am feeling rough but I know that by Thursday I will be dying for some Toytown Action! Do we have any suggestions or have folk already decided on a place?

I've recently joined 'Hospitality Club' (an online thingy similar to couch surfing) and they have their monthly drinks this thursday at a bar between rosenthaler plz and rosaluxemburg. cant remember the name. was going to swing by there tomorrow and see if it looks like we could gate crash their party and perhaps meet a few more locals as well as other newbies to Berlin.

Would anybody be into this idea? I'll check it out tomorrow morning and will let you all know by the afternoon either way.

Okay, so I've run out of time to check the bar in person today, but has anyone else ever been to Pub "Baiz" ? ( Christinenstr. 1 / corner Torstraße, 10119 Berlin-Pankow, (between U Rosenthaler Platz - U Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz) www.baiz.info

My german is too non existant to look at their website. My email says that they meet there every second thursday of the month starting at 7pm, but I have no clue how many people normally go to these things.

Will be out and about tomorrow morning so will make an attempt to stop by there.

YIP, I was there last weekend actually. It's a Communist bar, so if anyone is in any way anti-Communist, this probably isn't the best place to go. However, should this particular anti-Communist person be low on dosh, this wouldn't be the worst place either. I can distinctly remember an overproportionate amount of guys there, which was unfortunate, but all in all it's not a bad place.
