Thursday night drinks in Berlin

or maybe it's supposed to be decided by the first one to suggest...this could be also an alternative...

No offence to Janna, but since the beginning of Thursday night drinks in Berlin we try not to confuse people by putting up two different bars, unless like the past few weeks a few bars were suggested in different areas due to the strike.

If you want to start a different meet up on a Thursday please do, but on a different thread.

The bar chosen needs to be suitable for our needs as a large and sometimes loud group. If a bar was tried previously and it didn’t work, then someone will say, but a good reason should be given.

I can't wait till things finally calm down after the strike. it's made everything so confusing. looking forward to seeing all the people we haven't seen in ages due to the strike and lots of new faces tonight.

Thanks Stubbs for your kind words. I had a look at there website and it seems that have a philosophy??? A bar with a philosophy! I did a bit of a recon over the weekend and well despite the philosophy I am very happy with the place as well I just hope the pet philosophy does not come back to bite me. I'll be a bit late and shattered as I am moving on Thursday evening. So if anyone wants to volunteer.

Do they have a pool table? I feel another whipping-an-American-at-pool type of feeling coming on.

I just arrived in Berlin (and this forum). I'll stop by on Thursday, looking forward to speaking some English.

I swear I just did this, and yet it appears nowhere. Oh well, I am hopefully going to make it to my first Toytown drinks tomorrow evening. Drinks in Pberg sounds like a great way to celebrate being in Berlin! I'll be the tall girl in the purple parka wandering through the bar if you see me give me a shout!

how about we meet in kreuzberg next week? there's loads of cool places down oranienstr (between kottbusser tor and goerlitzer bahnhof). or there's a good place called madonna on wiener str ( by goerlitzer bahnhof)

i personally second the Kreuzberg plan. Also i would quite like somewhere not so bloody expensive this time.

it's a conspiracy...they dont want you to know that madonna has over 100 whiskies and frescoes detailing a lascivious pageant of falling angels and clerical inebriation. (now if that doesn't sway you, i dont know what will)

madonna bar, one of my favourites, and 20-30 people absolutely fill it! its smoker friendly, not expensive, has a ceiling you just have to see, and stairs to the toilet that are really testing after 3 beers (for me anyway). if anyone gets bored there, the morena bar accross the road is bigger and more cafe-ish. or if you want something really crazy there's the 11 bar 2 doors down from madonnna, but nothing much happen's there till midnight.

in light of impending strike doom anyone want to hire a mini-bus for the way home?

hey have my first thursday off for a while and am going to plod along, but was thinking of taking advantage of free museum entry on Thursday and heading to one before hand.

Anyone interested in tagging along and got any suggestions, I was thinking of the Guggenheim.

I would be interested but I think the Guggenheim does not play along with the rest the museums on the 'free entry on Thursdays' but well see.

the Guggenheim does free mondays, but unlike thursdays where is just for the last couple hours the guggenheim does it all day.
