You'd think with growing up in Atlantic Canada with -20 action plus windchill, this would be nothing for me, but I've gotten soft in the past few years - I've managed to avoid sub-zero since...2005.

I'll probably stop by. My first time was last week, but I was only able to say hi briefly because I had a friend in town that night. I may bring a friend with me.

I miss thursday night drinks, but eating lots of cheddar cheese and gorging on bacon sandwiches is making up for it. See you all next week.

I've finally made it back from christmas holidays and definitely looking forward to catching up with everyone this thursday and meeting any new people that may have joined us over the holiday (or anyone who may be new this week..)
- ok, so maybe a bit depressed to have to go back to work and need something to help me get through this week..

So the non-alcoholic buzz from cheddar cheese and bacon has worn off already and reality has sunk in? Though, I'm still jealous that you got your jonesing satisfied with the quick fix.

For a small fee, I will quite happily bring goodies over on my usual one monthly trips! Or for those who havent discovered it yet, Galleria Kaufhoff now sells Catherdral City Cheddar! Woo Hoo!
Any suggestions for this weeks venue?

My reply mirrors Rob's - if I can get over this exotic 'cold' I caught soon enough, I will actually try to make this one. I don't know about other regions of the world, but California never connected me with a seasonal illness that has been even remotely as debilitating as this one...haha.

So unless there's any violent protests against this venue, I suggest this week we go to
Trespassers this thursday.
Steinstrasse 12, 10119 Berlin-Mitte, SBhf Hackescher Markt / UBhf Weinmeisterstrasse U8
There definitely plenty of space and sounds like there's a decent selection of drinks.

Hi,
I am new to Berlin and came across this site today. Can I join in the gathering tonight? Can someone give directions and how I would be able to recognise the group when I am there?
Thanks

Just copy and paste the address into google maps and you'll find it no problem. It's in a basement bar on a road with a bunch of construction.

Jan 10 2008, 1:01 pm
obviously not a big cheddar fan then.
If one of the first few people to the bar could mention that we're the Toytown group and where we're sitting, just in case, so that if anyone asks and doesn't notice the very loud group (especially since 'some' people are back)of english speakers, they can point us out for them.

Will probably show up tonight, just need to drag myself out of the apt after getting my fix of watching the replay feed of last night's Daily Show and Colbert Report now that something new is back on. That, and it's warmer than last week.

for our needs.

Redneck, why dont you just pick one? If there are too many suggestions then it gets confusing.

Hi there back in Berlin this week will be great to see y'all.
Strandbad Mitte in my opinion wont work, it's always packed. Chances are half of us wouldn't even get a drink, much less enough space to talk & lounge.
Kapelle - lovely place but think too small for us or do they have an extra basement room like August Fengler or Intersoup?
Dont know Montevideo. Café Einstein, havent been there for ages so don't know if that'd work.
Cheers
