damnit i always spend too much money when I go out to these things, perhaps Ill have a few beers before I leave this time. Good idea me thinks. Is it true that the place doesnt open until 10?
johnny
Dec 13 2006, 9:33 pm
where did you hear that? the place is open all day and into the wee hours. plus you can get a mighty bottle of sternburg (the stuff you usually see bums drinking) for an incredible.. €1.30 (?) if memory serves me correctly.

So it's officially the Morgenrot?? I'll be there tomorrow night for sure...I have a present for Mary...I wonder if she remembers what it is???
EnglishmanInBerlin
Dec 14 2006, 2:37 am
Morgenrot then! Wasn't this Johnny's choice a few weeks ago? If I'm thinking of the right place then the best thing about it is the cheap beer! & I seem to be getting used to this trekking to Prenzlauer Berg thing now - although it usually means I end up staying till the u-bahn starts again! Good excuse eh?! See you all there!

I do indeed remember what my present is...very excited! Although I am not feeling so hot today, had my Christmas Party last night, and now I feel like a herd of elephants is running through my head!
Oh and I MUST NOT stay out till late, as I have to fly home tomorrow, and go to work in the morning!
stevenomes
Dec 14 2006, 3:18 pm
Sternburg is the shit man. Thats what I always pick up if I need a few more beers from the case station before I head somewhere. Its cheaper than dirt
johnny
Dec 14 2006, 3:22 pm
wait a minute, a we talking "dirt" dirt or high-grade dirt?
stevenomes
Dec 14 2006, 3:49 pm
no man im talking about the dirt that is cheap. there is also expensive dirt...

Looks like, for the second week running, i will be in the office until gone 8...depending on how great the need for beer, I may see you. Or i may not...
johnny
Dec 14 2006, 4:25 pm
I don't want to expound for too long on the virtues of dirt, and some may call me romantic, but I do think the quality of dirt just isn't what it used to be. You can go ahead and call me crazy, dangerous if you will, but this is just the way I feel.
Thank you for listening.

Well, it would be nice if you could make it!
Is it time to start talking about Miller High Life, Lone Star, and Grain Belt Premium now?
(I'm actually a beer snob most of the time, but on occasion a bad beer with character is called for.)

What about La Crosse Light man? 9.99 for a 30 pack. That shit is my favorite beer in the US, here it compares to nothing because mostly all the US beers are seriously lacking in taste. I do usually like high life from the miller products just because its a lot cheaper usually 24 pack is like 12 dollars. Shit son!

Dec 15 2006, 12:15 am
La Crosse Light? Eh?
Busch Light. Busch Light. Busch Light. Or even Busch Heavy. That is the best "dirt" beer. And it is as plentiful as dirt. As cheap, too. Though, don't know if you can beat 10 bucks for a 30. That's impressive.

Was great to be back at Thursday night drinks. This was the largest turnout for a thursday night that I've attended. We had over 28 people come out.
I'm just sorry I had to leave early. Stupid flu.

Glad to hear it, Mhairi! I guess it paid off to leave earlier than usual.

I wish I could have stayed even longer, but what can I say?! A Charlottenburg gal has to catch her last train home.
Did anyone take pictures, by the way? I forgot to bring my camera...

Really enjoyed last night - a wonderfully diverse gang! Perhaps in time I'll learn the 'Berlin late-night schedule' and enjoy everyone into the wee hours of the morning instead of retiring early. Great time though! Thanks all!

Hey guys, is anybody in Berlin AND in the mood for another TT Thursday get-together?

I am battling with an annoying cold right now, but I would definitely try to make it. Any suggestions as to where we could meet?

I'd be interested in coming along for thursday night if someone could locate a bar, this seems to be a weak point for Toytowners...

Karli, it's you, right?

Maybe you could find out the name and let us know? I'm already used to coming to Prenzlauer Berg anyway, so no problem for me whatsoever!

it is indeed Karli (you even spelled my name right i'm impressed)
The place that I am suggesting is called, at least i think its call, "Zum Leibarzt" and it is on the corner of Cotheniusstraße and Fritz-Riedel Straße near the Europa Sport Park

So...
I still have some friends from New York in town, leftover from the holidays... are we drinking on thursday?
I don't have any really good ideas for bars. Maybe Franken on Oranienstr. in
Kreuzberg?
Any other cool stuff going on this week?

Nice Pic, G.
I'm in luck - I think I worked it out (if all goes right) to be able to have half day off on Thursday and all day off on FRIDAY!!
So I might be able to attend on Thurs night!
No suggestions on where to go though. (If the New Years Adventure was any indication, my executive decisions of location do potentially wind up getting executed badly...)
So, Time - 8pm... place? You choose.
