Final Infos

Address Martin Luther Str. 31 (directions to follow from LB) name on bell is King I assume?

Time 1pm. Can people try not to be too late please.

Secret Santa Those taking part know who you are and well you know you'll all be looking a lot worse than a Purple Muffin if you do not show or forget your pressie. Can I also ask you all to put a name tag on the gift so we know who it is for.

Food we agreed that everyone was to bring one dish to make up the buffet. It does not have to be homemade so don't feel under pressure to go to a lot of effort unless you want to. But the rule is if you are coming to brunch then bring something. I will have to think of a suitable punishment if anyone dares not to bring something.

We will also need paper plates, cups, cutlery (maybe one person could bring these instead of some food - please let me know).

Here is the list so far:

Purple Muffin (and Prob+1)
Evanna
Little Britain
Huggy Bear
Sc5799000000000000009ß9ß90
Booglilicious
Jonnyboy
Chickenmadras
astrid jane
billy (+1)
bilalbham
hanna (+1)
Number 10
Kes (I'll put her down but not sure. But no worry on the food front she is veggie so won't eat anything)
Grimsby (He did say he was up for it one night down the pub - not heard anything else though no response to PMs or text messages)

If anyone else wants to come, see the rest of the discussion about this event and add your name there: Frankfurt Christmas Brunch Party

Ok think I have been bossy enough for one afternoon time to get back to work ph34r.gif

Look forward to seeing you all Sunday biggrin.gif
Purple Muffin
Ok then everyone so at drinks last night we made an executive decision for the Frankfurt Christmas party. Since there were practically no evenings free between now and Christmas where most people could make it we have decided to do a pot luck brunch.

Date: Sunday 10th December 2006
Time: Shall we say from 13:00
Location: Little Britain and Grimsby’s bachelor pad (details to follow)

Could everyone please bring one dish for the brunch and some booze.

We would also like to do a Secret Santa. For those of you wanting to take part I need you to sign up here so that I can arrange who is getting for who. I will then send everyone a PM with the person that they are buying for.

The people who have confirmed so far are:

Purple Muffin
Evanna
Little Britain
Huggy Bear

Shall we say 10€ each for the presents?

See you all there

I just had another thought about the Secret Santa. When I have everyones names I could just put them all in a bag and since I'll be seeing most of you over the next week or something each of you could pull a name out then? I could do it via PM/Mail but then the problem of course is that I'll know who is buying the pressie for who tongue.gif

Just a thought.

Or we could do the pulling out of the bag and those I don't see get a PM/Mail???
Billy
Hey I may be able to come along on the 10th.

Can I bring along Mrs. Billy too? She'll be fresh off the plane. Its about time she met you lot, she's always been curious about what I've been up to in Frankfurt ... uh-oh, on second thoughts... huh.gif

She lands 9.25am in Frankfurt and I'm picking her up, so we should be able to make it down and back up to Frankfurt by 13.00. Prob check out the Christmas market while up there too!

BTW, assuming that we can make it, does my famous chinese spare ribs count as a Brunch Item? I can make them the night before and we can heat them up when we get up there... biggrin.gif. Believe me, they are GOOD!!! tongue.gif. The problem is if I cook them the night before, they may not survive the night!
astrid jane
I'm in! I'm in! I wanna play too!
Purple Muffin
Excellent will add you both to the list biggrin.gif
Little Britain
looks like it is all shaping up very nicely! smile.gif
bilalbham
Id also like to come smile.gif
Purple Muffin
Ok so here is the updated list:

I am assuming everyone is taking part in Secret Santa? I'll be putting names in a hat and bringing the hat to curry night/Thursday drinks/ dining club Saturday so should see most of you so we can all pull names out.

Is 10€ for the pressie ok/fair?

Oh and if you are all taking part in Secret Santa it means you all have to show up otherwise someone will be without a present. (I'll take my bossy boots hat off now!)

Oh Billy I had not put Mrs Billy in for Secret Santa but is down for the lunch is that ok?
Billy
Hi Muffin

Thanks for putting us down. Yes no problem. If you find that you end up with an un-even number of people, then please feel free to put Mrs. Billy down for the santa too, but otherwise its fine to leave her out.

Who wants a singalong? Feelin in a festive mood...I'll start:

Snow is falling,
All around me,
Children playing,
Having fun...
Purple Muffin
It's the season, love and understanding...

Hey in Germany they would play Shakin Stevens on the radio without the excuse that it's Christmas...I heard none other than 80s romeo Glen Madeiros on the airwaves on Friday! Not heard that song since my stereo chewed up my Now 11 tape unsure.gif
kes
Oh man this sounds good, but I think I have a previous engagement that Sunday. Not totally sure about it though, or about the times. Hopefully I can join you later on in the day. How does Secret Santa work anyway?
Billy
...Merry christmas everyone...

Time for parties and celebration,
People dancing all night long,
Time for presents,
And exchanging kisses,
Time for singing christmas songs...
Evanna
We're gonna have a party tonight... laugh.gif
Billy
I'm gonna find that girl underneath the misteltoe,
We'll kiss by candlelight... ph34r.gif
Evanna
Room is swaying, records playing
All the songs, we love to hear... rolleyes.gif

Each person buys a present for one of the other participants (so in the end everyone is sure to get a present, without knowing beforehand what it is or who it's from) and all the presents are exchanged at the party. For all the details, see post #12.
Purple Muffin
Thanks for that Kay yes that it is exactly how it will work.

So Kes if you want to be in on Secret Santa I need to know soon. If you cannot make it until later I guess we could save pressie opening until then. It depends if and when you can come. Let me know.
Billy
All I wish that everyday was christmas,
What a nice way to spend the year... cool.gif

We're gonna have a party tonight... laugh.gif
kes
I won't know about Sunday until too late, so I simply won't join in on Secret Santa. (I always buy second hand environmentally friendly stuff and wrap it in newspaper, you should be thrilled I'm not joining in!)

I'll try my best to make it along! Bring on the Christmas spirit!

Deeck the halls with boughs of holly ...
Billy
Fa la la la la la, la la la la... smile.gif
Little Britain
Tis the season to be jolly.. smile.gif
Billy

Little Britain

Purple Muffin
god you don't have to brag!!!
Hanna
Hi! I'd love to come to the Christmas brunch and I'm in for the Secret Santa thing. I'll be bringing my husband as well. If you need us to bring two gifts, we can. Otherwise, we will bring one.
Purple Muffin
Ok secret Santa draw has started and those who were there pulled names at dining club. The following people still need to draw:

sc800044444444449646546
Huggy Bear
Astrid Jane
Jonnyboy
Evanna
Bilalbham

So we need to find a time for you to draw.

My suggestion would be for me to pass the bag over to Evanna or somebody similar as since I will be away as of Wednesday and not around for drinks this Thursday or the weekend. That way you can all pick then.

Does that sound feesible?

Other option is for me to pick for you all and tell you by PM. But then I'll know who is buying for who. I'll keep quiet though smile.gif
Evanna
I won't be out Wednesday and Thursday either, my next free evening actually is Friday. sad.gif If noone else can take over the bag, maybe PM drawing for us is the best way to do it?
RedDevil
have got friends over from England that weekend but as I will be dropping them back off at the airport, can probably pop in as I'll be up there anyway. I'll find out what time their flight back goes...

The question is can we trust one of the boys with the bag more than anything tongue.gif
Evanna
Maybe we could entrust honorary girl Jonnyboy with the bag? He did really well at astrid jane's Thanksgiving pyjama party... biggrin.gif
Number 10
If i'm in town, will i be allowed to come along? smile.gif
Purple Muffin
Hmmmmmm what dish are you bringing?
Number 10
How's about a swiss cheese platter ?
Evanna
And chocolate, pleeeeeeeeeease! tongue.gif
Purple Muffin
oh I said no chocolate dry.gif

But then how can I resist?
Number 10
Well I had already promised PM cheese...

but the chocolate here is bloody good y'know too

So i'll provide the KaseTeller and some choccy treats on the side for Eva too !!

If I can find a Swiss Roll then i'll be sure to bring that too ;-) but at the moment i'm not convinced they're actually Swiss cos i've not seen one yet... sad.gif
Purple Muffin
course they bloody are where else would they be from??? tongue.gif
Number 10
Well that's what I thought too !! In fact I expected the bakeries to by full of the things !!

mmmmmmmm

But then I was left very dissapointed when I visited the town Battenberg too !!! mad.gif

Only if it is a decent size mate tongue.gif
Purple Muffin
Ok then folks so not much response on the taking over the bag front so I will PM everyone left this evening with their secret santa person they need to buy for.
