Moment of panic : tried booking flights for Christmas (before all my colleagues get their holidays in first) and noticed Easyjet do not accept bookings for the MUC - EDI route after 27th October ?!?!?!?! Why ??? Please don't let them pull the plug on this route !! ohmy.gif

Don't panic, they have different schedules in winter. You probably couldn't book a flight to Stansted at that time either.

What is a good price for this flight (MUC to Edingburgh)? My parents are flying over to MUC to see me for 2 weeks but want to do a quick 3 day trip to Edinburgh to visit some friends. I found flights midweek for 120€ RT...has anyone found cheaper? This, BTW, would be for sometime between Sept 6 and 19...

That's a good price for that route, you rarely get cheaper unless you are VERY early at booking

120 sounds pretty good. I got 95 early on but that was also booked through our Corporate booking agency.

I flew this route recently and paid a good bit more than that... I have to say that I found it a really unpleasant flying experience, especially on the Munich end... we were flying with an infant + toddler, and pre-boarding was actually a disadvantage as we were the first on the bus, so last off.we only managed to get seats together when i asked a man sitting on the aisle to move up a row to another empty aisle seat...
Pas
I agree about the pre-board but as somebody who flies this route a lot I think its fantastic. No more hour and a half in some Euopean airport before catching the connection or even worse the stress of the return flight not knowing if I'll catch the connection.

I think there is as much legroom as on the Heathrow shuttle as well so its no more uncomfortable.

I love this route...definately beats having to wait four a couple hours (or often more!) in stansted waiting for a connection up to Edinbugh.
But i do agree with you about theboarding process at Munich...why bother having different boarding groups if everyone gets shoved onto the same bus?!

I booked flights at Christmas time to go home and it was really cheap...around £50 return...but if you don;t book it really early it gets pretty damn expensive!

...how did you manage that if the booking process only goes to end October?
seb
I think JAN meant they booked flights last Christmas for a trip home during the year, not that flights are booked to go home this Christmas
JustAnotherName
Yup you got it right...sorry for the confusion.

The extra duty charges on passengers who have prebooked travel total over £100m. British Airways have chosen to absorb their £6m bill rather than go back to their customers and ask for more, but obviously the budget airlines will be seeking the monies from their passengers.

See: Brown accused over air tax timing

re the Airport Tax charges with reference to BA above. Before any increasein tax charges, BA charge 149Euros in taxes for a return flight to Glasgow via Heathrow.

Hardly surprising they have choses to absorb the bill...Robbin bassas

Hello All,

New to this Site and area, but the problem of direct flights to Scotland was the bain of my life in the Monchengladbach area too! I noticed there's some pretty old information on the site about Scottish flights - so thought I'd mention that Easyjet now have a direct service between Munich and Edinburgh. About time! It's worth booking well in advance though (< euro 150), as the flights aren't cheap if you don't (euro 250+).
