By popular request from a couple of Frankfurt TTers, I would like to invite everyone for a tour of Hessen's capital city's drinking establishments smile.gif

Basic plan is as follows...

For early birds and lovers of the beautiful game, you are welcome to join me watch the Premiership football match at 18:30 in Irish Pub Wiesbaden.

Then on to a restaurant for about 20:00...there are a couple of really good Thai places in the centre of town or we could go to Vapiano, which I hear is excellent although I've never been.

Then on to a couple of bars and maybe a club afterwards if anyone has any stamina.

I'm basically looking to get an idea of numbers first before i book anywhere or make firm plans, so I will post venues & times once I know how many roughly are interested.

For anyone coming from out of town, there is an Ibis hotel bang in the centre of Wiesbaden for € 54 per twin room. The first S Bahn back to Frankfurt and Mainz is about 4:30 in the morning.

Hey hey, I'm definetly keen. Put my name down biggrin.gif I really don't mind where we go to for dinner, Thai sounds good. Mmm Satay Chicken.

Well better get back to the grindstone.

Looking forward to it!

Hi there. Great idea. Put down 2 more names on the list then.
By the way, which Irish pub in Wiesbaden shows the footie?
chickenmadras
Good stuff!

The Irish Pub on Michelsberg has Sky Sports and shows all Premiership games apart from the Prem Plus ones.

As far as I know that is the only Irish Pub in WI now that Danny Boy's has closed.
London girl
Yep, yep, yep, M and I are defo up for that. Looking forward to it.

Okey dokey...I'm on a work trip all week in Poland so this is the last time I'm gonna be able to post before Friday.

Plan is still to meet in Irish Pub Wiesbaden first at about 18:30 onwards. Address is Michelsberg 15, nearest bus stop is the no. 6 from Hauptbahnhof direction Nordfriedhof and get off at Michelsberg.

Anyone who wants to meet at the restaurant then the plan is to go to either Grand Asia which does a buffet that is very good, or to go to Brown Sugar Thai Restaurant. Because I am out of the country I've not been able to make a reservation - however these restaurants are both opposite one another in Taunusstrasse. The Grand is huge so we'll have no problem getting a table there if Brown Sugar is full. Nearest bus stop - take the no. 1 from Hauptbahnhof direction Nerotal and get off at Röderstrasse.

Restaurant let's say meet there at about 20:00. If anyone wants to get hold of me best if you PM me your mobile number - I will check my messages on Friday and text / call you back biggrin.gif

See you on Sat!

Cheers

Sounds good, see you at the pub. Hope the trip to Poland went well!
chickenmadras
OK so I've reserved a table for 8 people at The Grand Asia on Taunusstrasse for 21:00 instead of 20:00 because they were fully booked early evening.

Before then we'll be at the Irish Pub or I am reachable on my mobile which is 01577 3933184

See you tomorrow smile.gif
London girl
Thanks for reserving the table for us. I think we'll probably come to the pub first. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Guys

Just to let you know that we'll be coming for a drink, but won't be able to go for the meal afterwards.
Look forward to seeing you all.

So how was the Wiesbaden meetup? Good curry?
chickenmadras
Didn't head for curry - went for sushi / chinese / mongolian buffet instead. Bit short on numbers but yeah was a good night and the restaruant was really good. There's a curry night in WI planned for next week (see the other thread!).
