Need rescuing from the onset of the inevitable winter blues? Then have no fear -- the 55th International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg is here! Between November 16-25, the drizzle will disappear and the clouds will part to reveal a deep blue cineatic sky high above the Rhein-Neckar points of Mannheim and Heidelberg. This years program features extraordinary unusual, comical and mysterious films. In short: stories about bliss and adventure.

Four internationally renowned jury members from Macedonia, China, Estonia and Belgium will decide which of the 20 selected films in competition will win the "big prize" -- the Rainer Werner Fassbinder Award and the special jury prize. The best short film will be decided and and as always, the public will be able to choose its favorite.

Tickets are 3,50 Euro each and are available in advance at the official tickets booths in Mannheim (Paradeplatz), Heidelberg (Platz der Akademie --Café Extrablatt), and Ludwigshafen (Rathausplatz) or on the day of the film. Films will be shown in Mannheim at: Atlantis Cinema (K2, 32), Odeon (G7, 10) and Cineplexx Quadrat (Collini-Center); and in Heidelberg at: Schloss-Kino (Hauptstr. 42), Gloria (Hauptstr. 146), and Studio Europa (Rohrbacher Str. 71).

All films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles except where noted.

I just realized that ticket prices have gone up a euro each year since I first posted the article. people go see these films cause they are cheap(er) than regular-priced films. now, they are barely under a normal priced ticket.
