Okay, fortunately found the answer to one of my questions before I posted, so will prevent looking like an goofball on at least one point.
But it does leave this question: How can I delete a folder that I created from control panel?

Click the mouse on the directory name and delete it with the backspace or DEL key (i.e. delete the text from the edit box). Then click "Submit Changes"

Perhaps I'm thick or not being specific enough. I want to delete an Inbox folder that I created a no longer use. When I do what you suggest, I just go back a page.

I'm assuming you've clicked on "Edit Storage Folders" in the control panel and can see a list of folders. It should begin with "Inbox (Cannot remove)" and "Sent Items (Cannot remove)". Anything below that can be edited and/or deleted as I described before.

Right. I was being thick. Found it now and sorted. Thank you!
