My father is keen on astronomy and is visiting me this Christmas.
What can I take him to see or do in and around Munich (incl. Alps) related to astronomy?

I have already been to the Munich observatory (see The Bavarian Public Observatory) Although they do not seem to have anything on around Christmas time.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

So nobody knows anything to see or do in Munich to do with space or astronomy! Or if you do you arn't tellin'!

Sigh!

What about the astronomy section of the Deutsches Museum? As well as the astronomy exhibition itself, there's also the Planetarium, an observatory with two telescope domes, a solar telescope, a functioning early radiotelescope, sundials, an astronomical clock, and if you want to go for a nice long walk, there's the "Planetenweg", a scale model of the solar system, with the sun in the museum courtyard, and the planets located at their corresponding distances, the furthest one being Pluto which is situated 4570 metres away at the entrance of Hellabrunn zoo.
