You coull chip in a few coins,

Olde English. In the One litre glass bottle. One pound and ten pence. Oh the joys of a miss-spelt youth.

Am sorry, crusoe, shall have to find you some apple goodness forthwith as an apology and shall beat myself with bits of tree in the meantime. It's the only way.

Is that code for "yes, I meant Barry's Gold"?
And should we charge entrance for the beating? It is summer, after all, Quite a few people at a loose end.

@Katrina , I never mentioned DIET Vimto !

Is Vimto available anywhere here ?
geoooooofff
So looking back on the summer how have people taken to Magners? Are many germans drinking it, or is it still 2nd class to beer. Are bars finding its been selling well?
SpiderPig
they just started flogging this stuff in our local spar shop.

3.49€ a bottle!!
Small Town Boy
It's going to be hard to gain much of a market at those prices. All drinks in Bavaria are "second class" to beer. If you can shift a few bottles to young women in some trendy bars then you're doing well, but never in a million years will it ever challenge beer. In the UK sales have been stagnant this summer despite predictions of 25% growth, supposedly because of the poor weather. Sales of real cider have meanwhile been growing very strongly on the back of Magner's success.

The Allguth petrol staion by us is selling Bulmers for 1.99 E we just bought 6 cases!!! 568ml bottles !!!

Bought some Magners (pint bottles) yesterday in the off licence on Romanstr in Neuhausen near Romans cafe.
€3.99 a bottle though he did throw in a free glass (as he reckoned it was expensive)
MonksTown
In the bar I'm involved in running it was a discussion the other day.
Sales have dropped since the weather turned cooler.
We are not going to drop it as a product just yet. But it might end up being a seasonal line only for us.

Bloody right it's expensive, 3 times the price of beer? Can't see that being a big seller.

just an update on the situation:
Orterer Off licences, arguably the largest chain in Munich, now stock magners pint bottles. Cost is something like 2.50 a bottle.

Location of your nearest one can be found here: http://www.orterer.de/

You can get Magners in Longneck bottles at some Tengelmann stores and at Allguth petrol stations €1.79. I have also seen it at the Galeria Kaufhof.

The former "Johns corner Shop" near Münchener Freiheit is still operating abeit more like just a german style getränkemarkt, BUT in addition to your augustiner et al it also stocks pint bottles of Magners and (english) Bulmers.

cost: 1.80 for the Bulmers and 2.40 for the Magners

[they also have a limited amount of Cadburys chocolate bars including Crunchie!!]
