My husband gave me a bunch of documents to file and one of those was from the lady who does our taxes here in Germany. In the letter she says that we should be filing for Kindergeld. Someone told me we make to much money. However I printed out the form and now I don't know where to send it. I have heard it depends on your last name. which starts with a K. I have lived here 2 years and I now just getting this info. These relocation agents should be telling you all these things. Does anyone know what the correct address is? Thanks for your help.

For Munich residents, family name A-K, go to Familienkasse Deggendorf.

You do have to inform both cities. It is easier when you tell Berlin you are moving to Munich with your new address and then you should be sent the proper forms for Munich. Just need to know your kindergeld number which is on your bank statement.
Good luck with the move!

Hi, I left Germany in 2005 and during my stay I was not claiming kindergeld. My accountant now tell me that she has been declaring kindergeld on my tax return for the 5 years that I was here which is strange since she asked me and I told here that I have not. Does anybody know if it is possible to claim this after such a long time away? If so how and where should I claim it?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
Cheers.
