Juggling in Munich, any Jugglers out there?

A bit of club passing perhaps?

Hi there! just wondering if there might be any budding acrobats who would be interested in a bit of juggling à deux or even in joining me in learning how to unicycle smile.gif
Jasper
I'll pass clubs with you! There's a juggling club which meets every Monday - in the E.Gardens in the Summer and in the school on Grafingerstrasse in the winter. But that lot are a bunch of some of the most boring people I've ever met. I wouldn't recommend it.

ps
For the benefit of our non-Juggler readers, "club passing" is a form of juggling. You throw juggling clubs back and forth at each other. I spent most of my student days doing this. Crikey, what a wasted youth.

Yes, I'm not really into those clubby things (as in English Garden, not as in juggling clubs smile.gif ). I tried the Acrobatics Festival last year, and apart from there being very little juggling, I was stunned by how unwelcoming people were. Anyway, it looks as though you are a bit of a professional, I haven't got quite as far yet, I'm still planning on learning juggling with clubs (partially hindered by the embarrassment of having to drop them in public, as my flat is not quite suitable... smile.gif ). But I tried juggling with someone with ordinary juggling balls a while back and that was quite fun! Anyway, seems a valid alternative to going to the oub smile.gif

I might be a bit interested in passing the clubs some sunny day if anyone's up for it. Haven't done it in years, but a long time ago I was decent enough, with a best of 8 club passing for 16 throws, iirc (this did not get me the women I so craved to impress in the teenager years, though; had to learn guitar instead).

I'd need to practice some to get back to a 3-3-6 round though. How about passing some bier krugs? Drink a maß, pass it, drink another...see how long before someone's in an ambulance?

I'm not too keen on the organized group stuff, they remind me too much of those silly renaissance fairs.

I had to check myself from cracking jokes worthy of Beavis or Butthead...

Papillon, quite a coincidence...if you're from venice beach, I'll hit the floor...

If you guys want to get together for some practice, I'm open to mix it up and maybe pass beer bottles on some weekend (this Sat. not good, Sun. is fine). I think I have 6 clubs I can dig out of the basement, and an assortment of balls, cigar boxes, etc.

My guitar playing skills are almost as good to have qualified me to play in the stooges first gig; so my contribution to a band would be noisy and minimal to say the least.

Ah, some action, now we are talking!

Not sure about this weekend though - busy Sat and probably most of Sun but I'll be able to say Sat if there are any changes... Otherwise maybe Thursday (public holiday) or one evening (maybe even Sun), considering it doesn't get dark that early these days?

Hmmm, cigar boxes... is there a special trick to them or is it just another thing to juggle, like eggs, bananas... I've always wondered... (clearly not an expert, sorry...)

I think Sun. might rain at night. The holiday might be good...have to play it by ear closer it gets.

Cigar boxes are manipulative juggling, not numbers/object throwing. Generally classed with ball manipulation, dice stacking, devil sticks, etc. Done well, it looks pretty neat, and it's decent exercise as well.

Well, good to hear I wasn't walking into some Twilight Zone episode then...

Okay.

Have we lost all the rest?! Was looking forward to watching some club passing...

Well, looking forward to a demonstration!

Talking about Twilight Zone, I like your pictures of Nepal, that was my major Asia experience too!

I was looking for some cool jugglers to hang out with and came across this old thread. Since the group Jasper mentioned are supposed to be boring, I'll try posting again and finding some like minded people - some of the jugglers I've previously met were some of the craziest people ever.

Might have to wait for summer though... especially for all the unicyclists and acrobats to turn up in short skirts...

btw I am hopelessly out of practice but can pass clubs (good with 6, crap with 7), juggle 3,4 or 5 (briefly) balls and once upon a time managed to get around on a unicycle (never learnt idling or backwards though)
