I'm away from TT at the moment but here's a date to put in your diaries.
It's the little hut on the Rindermarkt The Feuerzangebowle is so deadly we call it "
Pots of Evil"!
There's skulls on the walls, a dead goat in "our" corner and a wee bit of eye candy. We are known to sing.
They pour rum over burning sugar into the Glühwein and then you can get EXTRA rum added:
It's Friday-after-work-drinks-and-wake-up-under-a-bush-tastic!

so you're up for the 25th then Tops?

All sounds very good fun & games - but I cannot stand rum, and don't really like that mulled wine stuff either. I'll turn up with a few hidden bottles of beer down me socks.

Oh and which smart alec and pots of evil regular has registered the name "pots of evil"???

Mmm, mead. I have a friend that brews it. Also drank a lot at Kaltenburg this summer.
Anyone know if mead is common anywhere in the markets? It's like a honey-flavored pot of evil, if you haven't had it. People get pretty wasted since it's really sweet (like a juice for kids), yet 12-15% ABV.

Haven't seen mead at the Christmas markets but hot caipirinhas and hot cherry beer seem to be quite popular.

Can't seem to find a time when everyone's meeting up. I have capoeira till 7pm in Arabellapark, and depending on whether shower (yey!) or not (stinky!) at home.. I could make it maybe 1.5-2 hours later. What did you have in mind?
@ER - I've seen it before, e.g. at the Weissenburgerplatz Chrstkindlmarkt. Yummy!
UrbanAngel
Nov 15 2005, 11:57 am
@One51 - check out the medieval market which Katrina posted about - they're sure to sell it. Otherwise, they've started selling bottles at
Viktualienmarkt (near the Müller stand (ish)).

I can kind of back up OG, because I think I've seen mead at
Tollwood as well. I don't really like it, which is weird because I do like honey and most sweet drinks.
Saan
Nov 15 2005, 12:31 pm
Mead can definitely be found at Tollwood. There's a stand that sells it outdoors and there is also a guy in the gourmet food tent (last year in the back corner) that does different kinds of meads (cherry, raspberry, blueberry and at least five other kinds). He gave us copious quantities of free samples last year--there was a small group of people, including the two people running the stand, getting slowly drunk. If you like mead you should try Bärenfang, a honey liqueur. Usually it can be found at the places selling mead (I've seen it at
Tollwood and at
Viktualienmarkt).

Hallo UA,
Welcome to poots of evil...
Theres a small problem in your plan. poots of evil starts around 4-5pm, depending on what time you are out of work (oh forgot your an
EPO fluffy bunny

)... The stand normally shuts down around 8pm, so you might be pushing it a bit tight. Forget the caparaera dancy swing your pants thing and come to Poots of Evil (cue manic laughter)

I did hear a marvellous rumour that PofE would be open until 8.30pm this year.
But still, you'd be pushing it if your doodah doesn't finish until 7pm
Katrina

More Po(o)ts of Evil facts:
Yes, it's open until 8:30pm for sales.
No they don't sell mead but hot mead ("Met") can be had from the honey stall in the
Viktualienmarkt or at the medival market (see other thread) as I saw carry-out/take-away hot mead sold there last Thursday when I was buying my veggies.
No, they don't sell food so do what I do and order Shaggy to bring you sausages from other stands (which he did).

Because I don't actually believe that the person behind the log-in "Pots of Evil" has ever actually attended one single Pots of Evil meet-up, no I think not.
UrbanAngel
Nov 15 2005, 1:40 pm
Oh, I didn't realise it was so early. I finish work at 3.30pm then have sports till 4pm, then have capoeira 5.30-7pm, so could theoretically come for half an hour between the two, but that would then mean not being able to drink any mead/caipirinhas or whatever so would defeat the object and be very stressful. Darn. I can't miss next week's capoeira as I'm then off on holiday so will be missing a load of lessons anyway. Ah well, drink one for me!

I am Poots of Evil, legend of drinking, master of dead goats, keeper of the clay cups.
I alone will call people together for Poots of Evil, no other shall come before me. You are not worthy to drink in my presence you lowly imposter, you misfit, you freak of nature.
