Pots of Evil - Friday evenings during Advent

is it only in the market they sell POE?? im coming on the 14th and ive got to try this stuff, and how much is it?

Most the markets have Glühwien stands, but at the Rindermarkt they have the Feuerzangbowle, the cost was 3.50 per glass (without shots in it) and 3.00 for the deposit on the glass.

What a great time on Friday. Got to share some PoE with some great friends - looking forward to having another one (ok, 2 or 3) next Friday!

I am going to a party next Friday and the host saw me after POE and reminded me he lives on the fourth floor,
no lift and if I get so wasted I'll never be able to climb the stairs. POE lovely, but enjoy with care!

MT, I seem to remember you having problems with stairs after one of the first years POE events..

Was it at the Augustriner Am Dom?

The stairs were newly polished apparently.

Unless the weather drops by about 10° this Friday, then I'm not bothering.

I had four too and had no problems, even after cocktails afterwards. Or the next morning. So if that helps with your assessment of the situation...

I think it depends on whether you decide you need to add a schuss or not.

I went without schuss this time and was actually doing pretty well [from what I remember].

Aha. I didn't realise MT was schussing.

Even with schussing, I cant believe its so hard.

I reckon I could manage about 20.

Quite a few places sell the Feuerzangenbowle, but the ones at Rindermarkt are (evidently) the better ones.

Of course but that doesn't have to stop you from adding an extra schuss. Besides when you light it on fire a lot of the alcohol evaporates anyway.

Yeh, I think the Feuerzangenbowle come with Schuss already. We were up at the Munchener Freiheit christmas market drinking there with schuss. We got to Marienplatz and thought we'd buy our own schuss from Kaufhof, so we got some jagermeister.

First sip of the Feuerzangenbowl stuff and it was clear it wasn't necessary. It was way, way stronger than the usual stuff. Unfortunately, we used the Jager anyway and by 10pm I'd had enough. Crazy. It tasted pretty damn good though.

Surely its just Glühwein or how else would you set fire to the sugar on a paper cup?

The schuss is an extra shot of rum that hasnt been set alight and poured over the sugar and yes you can tell its there. Your normal FZB comes without schuss.

According to the BBC it has Friday as -3° and snow. Perfect weather for POE this week.
