Drop Spots in Germany

Stash something fun and see what you get back

QUOTE (dropspots.org)
A Drop Spot is a kind of alternative mailbox. It's a hiding place in a public space, where people can leave things for exchange. Anything. It's a weird and wonderful way to add personal character to the streets that we live in. Stash something fun and see what you get back.

To find a Drop Spot in your neighborhood, visit the Drop Spots map. Select a Drop Spot map marker near you, make note of its location and visual description and head out the door to find it! Once you locate the spot and discover your mystery gift, make sure to leave one in its place to keep the exchange going.

Looking at the map I located around twenty Drop Spots currently in Germany. The cities were: Dresden, Saarbrücken, Darmstadt, Bonn, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Bielefeld, Hamburg, and Berlin.

Sounds alot like GeoCaching

This sounds exactly like geocaching except without the GPS. My question is how long will these "drop spots" actually last. If you know they're there and they don't really blend in, then as we geocachers say...

It's gonna get muggled.

Muhahaha time to stash a load of sharp razor blades then watch as someone cuts their fingers all up.

Just checked out Munich's drop spot online (Karl Theodore str.) and apparently two comments claiming it to be a hoax... Might just add one now. Any ideas on what to leave, apart from razor blades of course! huh.gif

I live around the corner, and I think I suspect who lives on that street, and could check later, or tomorrow.

Ha, was thinking of creating a drop spot, but have decided against it now - would have been convenient for me, but not a lotta laughs for anyone else...

Does get me thinking of security issues if the wrong type of people choose to use this for their own means.

What would you be "dropping"? May I come along to watch? biggrin.gif

I actually forgot all about my bookcrossing membership. This is only for books unfortunately, but it leaves you without the hassle of finding Drop Spots - everbody can choose and post their own.
