I have noticed that certain websites are not working, including BBC, cricinfo as well as a few others.
now, I know from outside sources that these websites are up and running fine, so the problem is at my end.
I have done the following:
on my connection, used multiple PCs, and multiple different browsers, and still these sites dont work
I have cleared temp files, cache and even tried enabling all cookies.
I have disabled my firewall to make sure that it isnt a'blocked' site, but I still cant get through
Short of talking to my ISP (ALICe) is the anything else I can try to pinpoint the problem?

I'm on Alice and have had the same problem since yesterday. Lots of UK websites affected, looks like it's an Alice/LINX router in the UK. Is your German up to reporting the fault? Mine isn't really.

You are not alone. I'm using Alice and haven't been able to reach a number of sites recently including BBC and IMDB.

is anyone in Germany having problems accessing the BBC website? I am currently in a hotel room far from home and want to read some news. However, the BBC website seems to be blocked. I have to connect to my company server via VPN is I want to read the BBC, which is a total pain in the arse, tbh.

i have a feeling the government here is deliberately blocking access for some reason or other but i suppose it could just be a similar problem to the one mentioned above.

in the asia-pacific news section there's a thing about riots in china outside a hospital - might be the reason. also about protests over beijing's dog policy.

i think you might be onto something there. there was also an article about protesters clashing with police over illegal land grabs to build a factor. none of these articles put china in a good light.
Are you in China? Then you are behind 'The Great Firewall of China'.
Sites like the BBC and Amnesty International are blocked.
There's an article here but I read that
wikipedia might also be censored:

I have been starting to have problems accessing certains site too...
It appears that 1und1 are switching their backbone network over to
mediaways.net (Telefonica), and there are some major routing issues..
I have tried running traceroutes to many different web sites, almost half
of the fail somewhere in the MW network..
Maybe somebody like YL6 can use their connections to get these fookers to fix their $hit...

MVV seem to be having problems with their site.. if you use the route or timetable planner and click on the logo to see the map of where to talk, there is no connection to their website. Been likes this for at least 2 days.
