Hairy Mary's - a bar in Prenzlauer Berg

Has anyone else been to Hairy Mary's?

I went to their party on Halloween. It was full of English speakers there drinking. It´s quite small and was really crowded when i was there so i left early but went back when it was quieter and it´s a cool little bar. They make their own cocktails and are cheap. I really liked the music they were playing though, and the guy behind the bar was way friendlier than the service I´ve sadly gotten used to in Berlin.

Might be a cool meeting point for sometime though. I like the flyer artwork.

hmmmmmm. nice advert. its bad enough you crash the forum and try to advertise your place, but you could at least have posted honestly instead of trying this 'i went here and it was cool' crap.

Do you have definitive evidence that "The Right Profile" is promoting their own bar?

I agree that it does look slightly suspicious. However, innocent until proven guilty is usually a better approach.

There are lots of people joining the forum at the moment (about 30 per day) and it is entirely feasible that someone's first post should be about a bar that they like.

In fact, we had a similar case before with the Rusticana restaurant. Someone made their first post to comment on how much they liked it. They were accused of self-promotion. That accusation turned out to be without justification.

Let's just ask "The Right Profile" what his/her associations are. I'm quite sure he/she will reply honestly if challenged politely.

ok, fair point. but this post is way more suspicious than the rusticana one (i had a look from your link). it's just so contrived.

i also know that this bar is new and they've been pushing flyers these last few weeks. seems to me they wanted some free publicity, which is fine but just post honestly instead of trying to trick people.

i'm sure people can make up their own mind. it's not the advertising that annoys me, thats fine its nice to know about places to go, its just can't they be honest and treat people like they have some intelligence?

I know the guy in this bar like i would sit and have a beer and talk to in any place with someone from my own country living in BERLIN.It's all only a suggestion or an idea,am i missing the point of this section of the forum.I've read loads of people looking for a place to go or watch footie,drink etc..You've obviously made up you're own mind already,and that's fine.It's a free world,
