K, so I've finished reading the 3 books I brought with me, and need some more. I read too fast to keep buying new, or even used ones.
Was wondering if anyone else out there would like to do a book swapping night?

I completely understand. I have a couple dozen books in the read pile and another dozen in the to read pile. What kind of word fodder are you looking for?

k, so my one non 'girly' one is being read. (Ice road. bout russia)will be available soon.
I'm kinda partial to the irish author type girly novels, but do actually read pretty much everything as I tend to just read whatever is around.
The 2 I have available are 'the devil wears prada', and I think a Cathy Kelly one.

I have Failed States: The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy. It's in my to read stack, so it's not up for trade, but feel free to borrow it.

Hi-
a book swapping night is a good idea- I am addicted to books- so I brought a lot with me! Many I have already read but love so much I read again and again. I have several non-fiction like travel essays, and memoirs (of non famous people though), a few natural health and women's health books, and many books of poetry. I would be happy to lend out books- I am not ready to say goodbye to any yet! And perhaps there is another one in exchange for me- although since I'm taking my German language course right now I should really be reading my Deutsch Perfekt-
If someone organizes a meet up/book swap, I'm in-

So as far as a date for this initial swaping of reading materials. Shall we say tuesday or wednesday?
up for suggestions on time and place.

good idea gg,
As for suggestions for the time and place, late in Mitte makes it more likely I'll get there. If I can make it, I've got a couple of things worth reading that I can throw into the mix. Is it "overload" to mix this into
the Drinks night, or just good multi-tasking? Thoughts?

This is an awesome idea. I have a ton of stuff I could trade away - I'm pretty ecclectic in what I read, so I have everything from horror to detective to strange romance stuff (don't ask) that has been passed off to me. We'll just say that I've got a pretty good english language book trading area at work too, so yeah, I'm game.
I'm headed to the states in November, so on this topic - if anyone has special requests, let me know. (Yes, I'm getting the new Stephen King book while I'm there!)

Hey! I think the newfie is onto something there.
So since no one else has come up with anything else, we'll just say that anyone who wants to swap books should bring a book or 2 to thursday night's drinks.
see topic:
thursday night drinks for more info.
be there or be square.

Hey, for all you hard working full time employees who won't be able to make it Thursday: how about a book swapping meet up this upcoming Sunday afternoon... maybe along with a hangover fry up and a pint somewhere, what do you reckon...?

I'm travelling this weekend (and usually a couple every month), but a Sunday fry up has my vote for the weekends I'm here.
The book thing can be whenever, I haven't got an abundance of free time to go plowing through books now anyway, but I do need something to pass the U-bahn trips and the lazy coffee breaks.

I'm in desperate need of books at the moment, so will be bringing a book or 2 along to
Thursday nights drinks.
We can do Sunday afternoons starting next week for a weekly book swap. or if someone want to organise something for this sunday feel free to organise away...
Hi there, Berlin people,
Very cool you got yourselves a book swap night organized.
For inbetween those nights, just in case you run out of reading material: Why not be a virtual
bookswapper?
You and your books are always welcome.
Best,
Resi
