Pet peeves, little annoyances in life

We all have them. Some more than others. I have many cuz I'm generally cranky (well, sometimes anyway).

Here are a few:

Tardiness
Being interrupted
Open mouth gum chewing
Using "a whole nother"...that's incorrect English
People who say that someone was "hung"... Pictures are hung, people are hanged!!!

There are many more but this is a start.

So what are your pet peeves?

The phrase "Believe you me" - It's just wrong!!!

Pedants

Damn then I am very unpopular on this site. Well I just posted this on the vent. Movies with great music tracks in the movie but not on the movie soundtrack itself. Oh yeah anyone dating Audrey Tatou.

It's sort of been done before (Behaviour on S and U Bahn) but I cannot say it often enough: Any kind of gum chewing, but especially open-mouthed smacking cracking moving the gum from front to back teeth and back again empty-eyed vacant stared gum chewing. I hope that the guy who invented chewing gum died screaming with terror due to the results of his brain-wave.

At the moment, my pet peeve is having to share a bus every Tuesday and Wednesday morning with a hoard of loud, annoying, adolescent school kids who hog all the seats and leave elderly or disabled passengers to stand. And when they're not hogging the seats they're blocking the aisle of the bus as they all apparently need to stand near the door they came in through. (The buses in Essen are not like in Munich where you can board at any of the doors. Here you have to board where the driver is and most of the kids tend to stop as soon as they pass the driver - even when he is screaming at them to move down into the body of the bus). Pfffftt. Teenagers. Glad I was never one

Watching dubbed movies runs a close second.

You could put a positive spin on that nixe, take it as an opportunity to release any pent up frustrations on them while thereby also educating the yoof, thus improving the prospects for future generations... yoga and philanthropy all rolled into one commute.

True. The thing is they just don't respond to adults (ie. the driver, me, other pissed off passengers) [s]berating them[/s] offering them constructive tips on easing bus conjestion. When adults speak to them they just do the deer caught in headlights look for a few seconds then go back to crapping on about so and so's new boyfriend and what a bitch the new German teacher is. It is much more satisfying to let off a bit of verbal steam at them when you get some kind of a reaction in return (even if it is not the one you're looking for). Alas, these little buggers have got the whole passive resistance thing down pat so I only get to practice my contortionist/yoga skills

As its Friday i will have to say my pet peeve is people who stick up for Pikeys. FFS just what planet are they on?

Accidentally lose your grip and fall heavily against them, making sure to step on at least two or three feet and knocking an elbow in a few faces. Then say, "Thank goodness we are all packed in so tightly or we might all have fallen down!".

Will try that one next Tuesday!

Peple who say "I could care less", thats not really saying anything is it?? The phrase is "I couldn't care any less", now that says something.

People who stand too close to me at supermarket check-out queues.
