@MD: If you'd been there you would know what you're talking about. But I assume it's not your sphere.

QUOTE

Actually S.B. i was not there but my sis and her hubby was, and they were well happy with the concert.I do actually like George Michael as a singer and i am in possesion of L.P,s and old singles. It was only a light hearted pun no offence meant

I think that Sueddeutsche Article of s.b. was too stereotype and besides, one should not mix the life of an artist with his/her music. I'm listening to the music of Georg Michael for years now and I don't care whatever of him is dripping down whichever wall (see previous joke ;-) ), I just like the music. As for the audience at the concert: I'd say there was a bit of everything: quite introverted women in their 40ies, a good share of the gay community, 'Kuschelbären' and party people (that would include me! :-).
The concert was a great media show with a variety of his greatest as well as new songs plus mocking of Georg Bush and Tony Blair.
I had a great time and would definately go again :-)

I forgot to give my personal opinion: Damn good concert, damn good singer, damn good music. He can sing every style and never be out of character. After the last encore he was on the stage on his own, bowing, and for a few seconds he looked humble. That's where I agree with the Süddeutsche - he didn't do anything to deserve his voice and is grateful for the admiration he receives in return.
Best moment, however, was during the break when the blow-up Bush deflated and the stage hands stuffed the deflating bull-dog back into his crotch.
