Database of English-speaking doctors in Bavaria

Find a doctor / physician who speaks your language

I noticed that there are quite a few requests for English-speaking doctors in Munich.

This is not a recommendation, but if you want to find an English (or whatever foreign language) speaking physician go to:

Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Bayern

This is the website of the association of physicians in Bavaria that cater to persons who are insured thru the German public health system (Krankenkassen).

Physicians listed do not cater exclusively to those insured thru the public health system, so you may consult any one listed no matter how you are insured (but may be billed differently).

This is not a comprehensive database as there obviously are also physicians who cater exclusively to patients insured privately but it may be a good point to start. Currently there are more then 2000 listed speaking English. The information provided on their foreign language skills is on a voluntarily basis so there may be differences in their command of English. You may search by speciality, address, office hours and even gender.

Unfortunately the website is in German only, so in case you don't speak kraut, here's a short howto:

on the left colum click on “Artzsuche öffnen, which opens a new screen.
In the new screen click on the tab “Einfache Suche or for even more detailed information on “Erweiterte Suche.

Specialities are listed in German but I guess quite self-explanatory.
For English speaking physicians highlight “Englisch in “Behandlung in Fremdsprache.

Hope this helps.

Or, alternatively, one can just download the list of English-speaking doctors in Munich from the US consulate (or is it UK, can't remember...) website.

That is not always the best option, as there are alot of doc/dentists on those lists that are no longer practicing. Those US/UK lists are not updated or even checked, if they can really speak english. To get on those lists all you have to do is send your office name and address into the consulates, and boom, you are on the list.
