We cooked this up under the influence of a few beers and a lot of very hot sun, but it's still valid:
We're having a Franka Potente Night in my place (as I'm still pretty much housebound) on Wednesday, from 7.30. (Bring your own booze, and we can order pizza.)
There will be
- Run, Lola, Run and
- The Bourne Identity.
Both great movies (I still haven't seen Lola but so I'm told), and it'll give you a night off from all the going out
To be followed up, hopefully, by other movie nights where everyone gets to show some of their favourites.

Lolo rennt - or "run lola run" is a brilliant film.
I saw where they filmed the bank scene in Berlin.

I hope you are planning on watching the German version (with subtitles). The English version of Lola Rennt is horrid.

@showem - I wanted to put that, but then thought of the abuse I'd get for suggesting someone listen to German out of choice. But I completely agree the German version is much better - but then so are all original voice versions, I hate dubbing.

Well we can have a vote on the night. I myself would obviously prefer the German version but I won't decide that. Good to know that native English speakers also think so. Even profundo said it, and he doesn't speak german as far as I know. But we'll see.

Let me give you an example. Near the beginning of the movie they are on the phone. In the German version, Lola is trying to find out who is doing something and shouts a couple of times "Wer? WER?" (who, WHO) In the English version, they have this translated as "Where? WHERE?"
At this point I stopped watching the English version.

And I'll have left

Can I still vote for the original language version though?

Yeah, can't stand to watch dubbed movies. I always want to hear the orignal actors speak in whatever language it was filmed in. To dub the film completely changes it in so many ways.

besides, Lola rennt is a great movie for practicing your German! I saw it and understood most of it during Grundstufe. I can't come, but I'd pitch it as a half German/ half English night. I heard you were good at language exchanges, Badger

Badger,
Here are the photo links you requested.
My vote is for Bourne Identity first since I won't be arriving till the second movie time. I haven't seen Lola Rennt in years and have seen BI about 5 times. I originally planned to be able to bring the movies over (since the Badge is incapacitated) but I can't come till later.
Is someone planning to get the movies other than me or does someone already have them?
Also I vote for original language too. Yes, my german is rusty but I understand quuite a bit.

BTW: Matt Damon has been raising money for kids with benifit screenings of 'The Bourne Supremacy' before it hits theaters.
Can't wait for that one either!

On an interesting side note, today's Franka Potente's birthday. She's 30 now.
