Some recommendations

Any suggestions where I can go for a nice Indian buffet lunch on a Saturday? I tried Maharani - it was OK but I don't feel like going back there.

Mehek by the Ungerer Bad is really good, and I think Sangeet (by Odeonspl) also does one, but check the Indian Restaurants link from the Restaurants page, and see, most places have a web page.
Alot of the places do do a lunch special.

Namaskar at Korbinain Platz in Ismaning is a really good restaurant and noticed last Sunday that they had a buffet lunch - we only stopped in for take aways - but it was very busy and the food looked great.. Maybe give them a try?

so is the Rama not there anymore?
There used to be a Namaskar on Rosenheimerstr- and it was, not good. Would be interesting to see who runs this one then.

Namaskar on Rosenheimerstr is now the Ganesha. As the Namaskar it was a foul, despicable, disgusting, reprehensible purveyour of curries, and I'm still emotionally scarred by having eaten there.

And I hope Rama hasn't closed. It was like top 3.

I know that Namaskar is now Ganesha- I really like Ganesha, but now wondering if Ismaning had 2 Indians or only one, and they changed the name?

It is a fact that if anyone has a great experience at an Indian restaurant someone else will have a terrible experience in the same place and will not recommend it. And vice versa.

Also, all the best Indian restaurants in Munich were once great, but now they've gone down hill.

So its "pinch of salt time" again.

I've never had a bad curry in the Maharani, or Surahi, and never had a good one in the Namaskar(Rosenhimerstr). And I've had a lot of curries.

I went to the Namaskar regularly because it was close to work, and the cretins I worked with didn't care that the food was shite.
Carm
for me its Sarovar, Deeba, and Safran
always good food there.

Surahi annoys me at Currynights, when they get picky at the end of the eve with one or two outstanding beers, and most other places don't get so arsey about it. And we have brought them 40 people. rolleyes.gif

There will be people who will have had a terrible experience in those places and will never go back again.

More emotional scars!

I have had many excellent curries in the Maharani. And one bad one.

It has also a lot to do with the type of food you tend to order. Each restaurant has its own good types of meal and meals that they are not so good at. Remembering of course that India has as many and varied dishes as Europe.

Amit: "Lets go for a European tonight!"
Srinivas: "I won't ever go back to the Shamrock again. Their Pizza was shit! How about the Taverna Athen? Their calamari is brilliant!"
Amit: "I hate the Athen! They tried to poison me with their bangers and mash! What about the Trattoria?"
Srinivas: "It was better than that muck they called Curry Wurst in the Trattoria! You wouldn't think they've ever been to Europe!

I reckon the mods have fucked up on this one. I am complaining about the dead, bankrupt, and despicable Namaskar on Rosenheimerstr, but putting the above link in suggests I'm disparaging the as yet innocent Namaskar in Ismaning.

Good one Captain Ridiculous, your name is well earned!
