Battlestar Galactica (TV series)

Being in the US I get to watch it tonite. Needless to say I am freaking excited. So in exchanging geeky pm's with various TTers heres the running top theories:

1. Casey is not a real hybrid
2. Baltar is a cylon

I definitely agree with the first one and can see the second one. I think it would be cool if he was actually a test tube a hybrid. In either case, me and my fellow geeks think Sharron is going to go full metal ballistic when she finds out about her kid. I cant wait.

I thought we knew he was a Cylon? Or was that in a dream? I forget...

what's this about the promotional "webisodes", released prior to the start of season 3?

Theres a remake now, onto the 3rd season.

It's one of the few sci-fi-ish shows from the past few years that, imo, has good drama and character development aside from the outer space/future stuff.

A little like the original one, but a little more grown up and a slightly different storyline.

Caught the pilot and then lost track of it. Been watching the first series and I have to say that I'm impressed so far, it's injected a demanding and compelling sense of intrigue into the original BG scenario.

Also, Battlestar is a compound word.

In other news, Adama in Hebrew means ground or earth. Not a compound word, but Adam means man, and Dam means blood.

Kobol, in Farsi, means heaven.

Gotta love endocentric compounds.

Watched BSG Series 3 on dvd not long ago - you won't be disappointed!

For Sci-Fi junkies...this series is a LOT of fun. I was a bit crushed when they ended it.

There is a spin off out "Razor" - anyone seen it - is it worth bothering with?

Yes - it's very good.

In what way is it a spin off? Which chacters or story line do they develop?

Does anyone know why the series was actually cancelled? Ratings or did James Almos want to quit?

Nope the writers just felt that 4 seasons was enough to tell the story.

Razor mainly takes place on Pegasus before, during & after Admiral Cain. Main character of the film is Lt. Kendra Shaw.
