Any of you loving and experienced parents know where is it possible to buy books and music for babies? For example there is a very nice Disney CD and DVD collection called Baby Einstein. I would like to know about shops which have a nice selection of such items.
Amazon.de has a limited selection, but a "real" shop would be better.
Thanks!!

I have seen a baby einstein section at Toys R Us, but I am not sure if the soundtrack is in both English and German or only German. You could try the English Hugendubel's if you want English-language stuff; again, I haven't tried this myself, although would be interested in hearing if you find anything.

Excellent. I just had a look at the Baby Einstein videos on Amazon.de, and the languages are in English and German, except the UK import ones, which are apparently only English.

The ones sold in the US have English, Spanish, and French. They advertise this as if you could be exposing your child to different languages as a bonus to the video itself, but I suspect the three languages are only so they can sell to Mexico and Canada, as well.

The prices here a little steeper, too: 19,99 euro vs. around $14 in the US. But I'll buy a couple of the German DVDs for mini-Cinz because she loves these videos, and the German will be a bonus.

As for a shop that might sell them: have you tried Hugendubel? I bet they have some.

Wouldn't the big Obletter at Karlspl carry something like this too?

There's a big Disney section at the Saturn Hansa on Kaufingerstrasse.. downstairs at the back in the corner. Just walk past the big King Kong figure and they're all labeled with yellow ears instead of dvd seperaters.

They must have Baby Einstein dvds there..

I went to Hugendubel at Stachus today, they don't have anything like that. Though they have some nice hörbucher like Janosch and others. I'll hit Saturn tomorrow to see what they have. Where is Obletter exactly? I don't recall seeing it before.

Obletter is the big toy store at Stachus, across the street from Kaufhof Galleria on the Marienplatz (pedestrian zone) side. (You were right next door to it when you were at Hugendubel.)

I was in Oletter on saturday. Wow, that place rocks for toys and baby and children stuff. It's evident that I don't need this kind of things on a regular basis because I've never seen that store before and it's right there in the corner.
There are a lot of music cd's for babies and audio books, but most of them again in German. And there was only one of these cd's which was related to the Baby Einstein collection. So for the moment being the preferred source would be amazon for those specific items.
But Obletter is definite a place to visit when shopping for kids's stuff.
