Hey there!
I have been living in Witten since September 2005 and have been having some really tough times meeting other native English speakers. It's my second time round here (lived here 2002 - 2004) but all my friends I knew back then have seemed to move away...
So do any native English speakers actually exist out here?? It seems many are in Düsseldorf/Köln/Bonn area but it's a bit difficult for me to get to those places during the week as I have a demanding job. It would be great if I could get to know some peeps from this side of town as it does get a bit lonely out here at times...
I miss many things from back home in the UK esp going to the cinema and prawn cocktails crisps! Also generally just meeting up for lunch/coffee/drinks without having to concentrate on my German.
Would love to hear from you!

Hi,
just to let you know there is a group of Brits in the Hagen/Wetter area just I few KM's down the road from Witten. We all went to Schwelm on Sunday for the huge Trödelmarkt (Car boot sale).
If you're interested in meeting up with us just let us know.
cheers

aaah, what a shame, if I´d known you were all going to be in Schwelm on Sunday I would have invited you all in for a cup of coffee and a jammy dodger. Hope you managed to make some good bargains.

Hi there,
I'm trying to find English speakers or other Americans in Bonn especially women with children around the age of 10. (I'm 30 by the way.) I homeschool my child here (private education program) and we need some outside social fun! Events or special groups would also be nice. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Don't worry, I work weekends too most of the time. But any time you are free, then just let me know and we can arrange something.

@beachbum: I'm afraid you've got to wait until January 2008 now. We'll hold our final Monthly Information Meeting on Friday, December 14 (please PM me for details). Our next Monthly Information Meeting will be held on Friday, January 11. Further pub evenings will be published following that meeting. Sorry, you missed out on the last one.
