Oooooooooh... damn well i can't miss your birthday can i ?

Have a friend over this weekend, but i'm sure i can drag her along for a bite on sunday evening...
how about a good ol spot of schnitzel and sourkraut at one of the appelwine taverns maybe?

i can't really committ for definite but will do my best for sure !!
Evanna
I may be up for it too!
Jonnyboy
would love to but am away thsi weekend. Happy dirty turd birfday as they say in Ireland...

Ohh! I like the idea of a kraut, sausage and apple-wine meal, actually. The obviousness of it as a "well..it is my birthday and I am in Germany, so what do you expect?" kind of thing is appealing. No Schnitzel though...schnitzel had its chance with me, and it burned all of its bridges. Schnitzel is nasty.
Evanna
What was wrong with the Schnitzel?

Schnitzel Rocks!! Surely?! ...No???
astrid jane
Cold, greasy...tough like a little hockey puck. I tried it a second time someplace else and it was just the same. Never again, man.

You are definitely not trying it in the right places then trust me. I am not a fan of grease but a good schnitzel is just lovely
Evanna
I agree with PM - there's nothing like a lovely crisp Wienerschnitzel!

Well, AJ is obviously more of a sausage person... so i think we should respect that decision eh

Man...you kept the birthday thing quiet !!!

Hmm. Not a fan of Schnitzels myself, aren't these deep-fried? Much prefer the steak than sausages.

Greetz AJ! How's the knitting AJ? I seem to remember you teaching me in a pub...knit one...pearl one...knit one...pearl one... it was great and thanks for getting in touch with my feminine side!

If its a curry, my body is having withdrawal symptoms and it will be worth the drive up! Tell whatz happening and Julie and I will be there...

You can't have been to the right places man!! a good schnitzel is one of the best things known to man. and a good Zwiebelschnitzel is unbeatable, even by a steak!

schnitzels aren't deep fried and should very rarely be greasy to be honest. The best schnitzels that i have had in Frankfurt are at Zum Eichkatzerl and Apfelwein Dax in Sachsenhausen, beautiful.

Will have to show you a good un.

Am potentially up for birthday food on sunday, what time are you planning on meeting? Frankfurt are playing at home at 17:00 so will be around from 19:30 onwards
astrid jane
Mm, well...I suppose 20:00-20:30 would work if there's a game on earlier.

I've never been to either of the Schnitzel places suggested. I am more of a sausage kind of gal (as #10 correctly noted) but I imagine if the Schnitzel is good at those places, the tubes of mystery meat and assorted gristley bits incased in in intestine will probably be good as well.

Is Apfelwine Dax close to a tube stop? What about the other one? Sorry Billy, it's not curry but if you'd be ameniable to making the drive I'll show you how to knit a hat next.
