Where to buy curvy jeans

Suggested stores in Munich

Hello,
Does anyone have any tips on where to buy good jeans here? I need some that are like a curvy style that allow a bit of room in the bum area. All the jeans I have have either stretched out or I've had to buy a bigger size for them to fit my ass and then the waist is way too big.

I need curvy jeans with a bit of stretch, perhaps.

Thanks.
cabbagefairy
I kow exactly what you mean! All the jeans here are for stick legs and to fit into them the waist is always to big on me too.

I have a bunch of different types of jeans, but only one pair fits really well and its crotch is almost completely gone. It really sucks.

The Gap sells them, but for some reason the crotch on the gap jeans are really low. Plus they don't have the Gap here anymore sad.gif

Try STAR fit jeans from Esprit (I recommend these personally!) and I have been also told HIS jeans are good (I think Hirmer have then and also The Western store).
MoiLV
Where are Hirmer and The Western store?
UrbanAngel
The Western Store is just off Neuhausener Strasse - walk from Stachus towards Marienplatz and it's on the right-hand side down a side street but you'll see the signs.
Panama
And Hirmer is just in front of C&A on Kaufingerstraße 28. Between Stachus and marienplatz. It's a 4-stories building.

Ok, thanks! Just looked on the Espirit webiste and it looks like they have lots of jeans with stretch.

Thanks!

also recommend Esprit. Zara also do a few styles that are wider leg/thigh, bigger bum friendly too so worth checking out - you just need to find them in amongst the skinny ones.

Star Fit jeans from Esprit are lovely if you have a fat ass (I'm allowed to say that, I have one). wink.gif (Renia doesn't though- so apparently the Star Fit jeans look good on everyone)
MajorBummer
Another vote for StarFit. I live in mine (ok, I take them off to go to bed and for showering and sports). My bod-shape is also normal.

I also read Curry Jeans. Must be because I have not been able to go to CN in a while.
Jeeves
Ha ha, the only reason I clicked on this thread was to add "what the hell are curry jeans?".
MoiLV
Do they leave that gap at the tape of your back where the waist is, though? I hate that.
MajorBummer
I just got up to check and no, there's no gap. biggrin.gif
Jenny L
No, they don't gap. Apparently MAC jeans are notorious for gapping (at least that's what the sales girl told me).

Renia
Also no gap with Star jeans, first jeans ever not to do that! So, no need to get them taken in at the back.

@Jenny L, thank you, but its just an optical illusion caused by the jeans.
Jenny L
@Renia- funny, my Star Fit jeans don't give that optical illusion on my butt. huh.gif

I love that website! I think you guys sold me on the Star jeans. I'll be there Saturday to check em out. Thanks.

You could take a look at Lands End -- they sell various styles of jeans and I think some of them are supposed to be more roomy...the two "classic" styles the Germans recommend you order a size smaller than usual as they are apparently cut quite comfortably!
cinzia
Eddie Bauer (PEP, OEZ) also has realistically-sized (and priced) jeans. Must be something about these American companies actually needing to sell to their market or something. rolleyes.gif

As zard said, if Lands' End advises you to buy something a size smaller, you'd best do it. I ordered a turtleneck from them recently that said the sizes were running a bit large in that style, and didn't heed their warning because I haven't worn a size S in anything in dog's years. Sure enough, I had to exchange the turtleneck once it arrived.

I highly recommend HIS, and i have also sometimes been lucky at S.Oliver

I tried on the jeans at Espirit and found that the SMART fit jeans fit the best. They only had one style of the STAR ones.

I didn't buy them yet though. Still deciding if I should just be happy with the 10 other pairs I already have.
UrbanAngel
I recommend HIS too but they're just plain standard jeans.

I thought you ladies might be interested in this!

Bodymetrics made to fit jeans

Bodymetrics pod takes hundreds of measurements in only 5 seconds, using light scanning technology, similar to a body scan. The body scan maps your body to determine a unique pattern which is hand tailored to your design. You will then receive a personal design consultation and this will allow you to design every detail of your new pair of jeans with the help of some expert advice from one of our personal stylists. They will guide you towards a design which will flatter your shape and fit perfectly.

So I'm off to London over Easter.. are there any English brands that would work well? Still not satisfied with my jeans choices.
Viennamom
Don't they have the Gap in London? I've always had luck finding bottoms for my curvier figure at the Gap. (I still miss the ones in Germany-- why they pulled out of the German-speaking market is beyond me!)
MoiLV
I have a few Gap jeans.. although they do have stretch and curvy styles I find that the crotch always sits way too low. It looks like you're wearing men's jeans or something.

PS - the Gap was doing terribly here. It was almost always empty when I went in there. The thing is, Gap has really basic, kinda boring stuff and it was just too expensive in comparison to H&M, where you can get polos, jeans and t-shirts for pretty cheap.
Katrina
TK Maxx - it looks like a jumble sale, the fitting rooms are horrible, the sizing is all over the shop, but True Religion and 7 for all mankind jeans etc. for seriously cheap? Oh yeah. Complete luck of the draw, you could get really lucky, you could get really upset.
Some like Next for jeans too.
seb
I live in Esprit jeans here but in the UK I buy Oasis, Top Shop own brand Moto or Next jeans. All have a good range of styles and fits. Oasis and Top Shop would cost from about 40GBP and in Next I picked up really nice kick flare jeans for 25GBP a few weeks ago.
lofichic
Dorothy Perkins have some great jeans in at the moment, plus they're the only shop I know that marks jeans with small, regular and large leg lengths then actually stocks jeans in each size.
Got a great pair of flares there yesterday for £22.50 with student discount! (£25 without)

Good luck
