I can get fresh proper bacon like back home in the UK. None of the streaky stuff, but real proper bacon. See product photo attached.
I have found a farmyard butcher, registered and legal. The meat is laid in brine for three weeks and then hung to dry in the cooler for a week. There are are no forced water or salt injections used. This makes the bacon comparable to a "bio" product.
Then I cut and vacuum pack the meat to customers' specifications. All freezable.
Costs are €13 per kilo. To be fair, a minimum order of one kilo is required. An order takes four weeks to go through the process.
So if anyone is interested, please get in touch. Click to
send me a personal message.
A big thank you to all existing and new customers.

I just ordered 5Kg! And will be having boxes of Walkers crisps as well if he can get the Worcester Sauce or Pickled Onion flavours.

And look at his comment below, the man knows what he is talking about!
QUOTE (Mik Dickinson @ Oct 4 2006, 5:17 pm)

looks good but I notice that white reminent in between the rashers. This means that it is mass produced and has been injected with a salt solution. Sometimes not so appetising to the eye.

Update: five supplied customers and all happy with the product. Another five to be supplied with the next delivery so I hope they will post and give their comments. Plus, Walkers crisps, nearly all flavours, also available from yours truly.
Message me for orders.

Met up with a very nice good looking lady that invited me and my mate round for a chat. Thought I would take her a portion of the porky stuff as a pressie. She was over the moon with it and stuck an order in straight away.

Jan 9 2007, 11:05 pm
Timmeh, from my experience that will be roughly 25 portions upward. One portion being 3 to 4 rashers at 3 to 4 mm thick.
Now I likes me bacon but even I would be struggling there, ooo ar!

Very nice lady was delivered to yesterday. Delivery today to another three customers. Enquiries from two new customers yesterday evening. Really interesting phone conversation with one new customer. Finally found someone who has been here in Germany longer than me. Rariety indeed. Hopefully all will post their views on Toytown.

Treated ourselves to a 'full english breakfast' last night! The bacon is fantastic, a big thank you to Mik.
I'll definitely be putting in another order , and sooner rather than later judging by the way it went down with the rest of the family!
Also, I'll be spreading the word around my non-TT friends.
Thanks again Mik, I'll be in touch soon...

Hi Mik,
I see from your original post that 1kg is really the minimum order and also that you vacuum pack it.
I would like some bacon, but to be honest I don't use so much at a time. So, can you vacuum pack it in relatively small amounts?
Also, can it be frozen after delivery?
Regards,
MT

One more question:
Is there a choice as to the thickness of the cut too?
MT
Wee Mun
Feb 18 2007, 8:46 pm
I can answer this... Mik cuts the bacon as thick or thin as you want, and puts 4 rashers in each pack.
And Mik, could I have 3KG in the order that will completed at the end of March

I think its just a code word for other things nudge, nudge

I could just imagine MT on his balcony, whiskey in one hand, big-fat-bacon-biffta in the other
PS: make mine a nine-bar of bacon please, I don’t care about the cut, but if you can put it in little airtight bags that would be smashing

B.B. you boundah what are you implying

that my bacon is a nudge nudge code word for something else LMAO!What is a nine bar of bacon? Strange how something so innocent as bacon can be misstrued eh? Editor bob i believe Grinner first placed a photo of the product when this all kicked off.Would like to openly say how thankfull i am to Grinner for telling me about this web site.

Picked up the latest order and all 5 customers have been informed.New order has been placed and the butcher informed me that i can pick that up on the 21.03.07.So orders will be delivered on the 24.03.07.due to people getting in touch thinking i have the bacon already here please understand that i place orders at the butchers as they come in.When i pick up the last order i place a new one and after that it takes 4 weeks. This way it ensures customers that they always get fresh produce and its then freezable.

Customer update:- have an order in at the moment for 20kg and most of that is already pre ordered.Butcher having touble keeping up because i only take a certain cut of the pig.

The next order will be for April.Problem being is when i order, the butcher lays the bacon in brine within a couple of days and if i am always increasing the order then a mistake could happen and bacon could be took out that has not been laid in brine for so long hence a bad tasting bacon. This is something i do not want to happen.

Agree 110% per cent - like Jane, I had a panful of bacon on the stove before I even bothered taking my coat off. 3 very satisfied people here and there will certainly be more to come. This bacon doesn't shrink at all - takes some getting used to after the tissue-paper streaky you get over here - tastes wonderful and stays juicy. Neatly packaged in portions too. I dont suppose that means that you can get a decent british sausage can you. I really dont understand why people think german sausages are the best, if you vist a butcher in the UK it will be better. Even tescos`s best is a better sausage

That's a matter of taste young man. I reckon the Germs have the sausage advantage to be honest.

Must agree with Timmeh on this one.I find personally that there is more meat in the German Sausage and there is a larger choice. In the end i stick with the Nürenberger or the ring sausage.
