A few people asked about this in the football thread, but I didn't see a resolution. So does anyone have 1) interest in meeting to watch some of the playoffs and 2) an idea of where to go? Most of the games start at 1:30 or 2am, so we need a bar that 1) gets NASN and 2) is open basically all night.
Afternoon games in the US are games 4 and 5 of the ALCS (22:30 Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15, respectively) and game 6 of the NLCS (22:19 Wednesday October 18). All the rest, including the World Series, takes place late at night CET.

I didn't see one either. If we get one, I'm so there!

Salamas has NASN and he is always open until like 5am. As long as your buying beer he will stay open. You'd have to check the schedule as on the weekends they might show football instead but definitely during the week if you dont have to work the next day im sure its an option. Check the website for the list of games they are showing. Im out

Tigers won yesterday - they're going to the world series (Go Tigs!)

Since the series is tied 2-2 (Let's go Mets!

) we know there will be a Game Six Wednesday night. Unfortunately, all the games are now scheduled to start at 20:19 ET which is 02:19 Berlin time, so any baseball-watching will definitely be a late-night affair. Do we want to try Salama's Wednesday?
The World Series starts Saturday, which is at least not a weeknight.

Jumps up and down excitedly...
Cards won ..
So it's the Birds (Cardinals) v/s the Cats (Tigers) in the World Series. Game 1 - Saturday night 2am Berlin time - woo hoo!
JTW - I'll pm you my handy number, we'll figure out where to meet.
Anyone else interested?

FYI Salamas is at Niederbarnimstraße 24 (10247 Berlin-Friedrichshain), just off Frankfurter Allee between the U5 stations Frankfurter Tor and Sameriterstraße. Never been there myself, and their website is out of service at the moment.

Groovy - I won't be near a computer tomorrow, but I'll ping you on the handy.
Hopefully, others will be interested too...
Hallo Baseball fans!!!

if you have a decent broadband internet connection at home you could also try this program
http://tvunetworks.com/downloads/index.htmits quite easy to use, and it allows you to tune into live network american tv (nbc, cbs, abc, fox) along with a bunch of other channels as well (espn, comedy central etc). The quality isnt 100 percent, but it does work pretty well in my opinion.

Series tied 1:1. Next game St Louis.
Go Cards!
Game Four got rained out, which means Game Five will be Friday in addition to the potential Game Six Saturday. Anyone game?
Also, does anyone know how to change the thread subtitle? It's now out of date.

To change a topic subtitle you have to use the "
report function" on the first post. One of the forum moderators will then update the title accordingly. I just updated this for you now - hope I got the dates correct.

The other possibilities I can think of are
City's Sports Bar which is out of the way and
play-off American Sports Bar in Potsdamer Platz, which I can't tell too much about because their website won't play nice with anything but Internet Explider.

Hey - got the play-off Sports Bar site working... looks like they're open:
Fri & Sat from 8 am - 1 am
Sun - 9:30am to 23:00pm
phone # 252 99 999
I'm not sure if that's late enough - the remaining games are:
Gm 4 DET @ STL Thu Oct. 26 8 pm EST FOX (2am CET)
Gm 5 DET @ STL Fri Oct. 27 8 pm EST FOX (2am CET)
Gm 6* STL @ DET Sat Oct. 28 7:30 pm EST FOX (1:30 am CET)
Gm 7* STL @ DET Sun Oct. 29 7:30 pm EST FOX (1:30 am CET)
* - if necessary
Re City's Sports Bar - hard telling didn't see baseball listed but then - that's a bit of a stretch here in Europe (pun intended). Being I'm coming up on the S25, I've got a bit of a ride regardless of where we end up.

Cardinals won, bringing the series to 3-1.
So, I'm thinking game 4 (and end of World Series of Baseball) tonight. It starts at 2am our time, so where, oh where, to go?

I never heard back from any of my emails, so I'm thinking we may as well stick with Salamas. (I suppose someone could call City's this afternoon if they feel like it.)
ETA: I don't have such an emotional stake, so I'm not sure whether to root for the Tiges so we'll have a Game Six to watch tomorrow as well, or for the Cards so we won't

Root for the Cards, its the right thing to do. If you don't you will be supporting terrorists worldwide and you will personally have the blood of 100 babies on your hands.

ha ha ha Dolfan.
"It's my job to worry about how they will win, it's your job to be happy about it." ~President Bush (ok not really but might as well have been.)
I'm going to St Louis over Thanksgiving so.. well... Yeah.. I want the Cards - much easier to deal with a bunch of happy people, than those who are still bummed that their team lost - especially baseball fans!

Depends on which location you go to. I have been to both several times. The downtown location laid back and great for pasta, its cheap, filling and tasty. I usually get the toasted ravioli appetizer and the tortellini (panna I think, been too long).
The location on "The Hill" is much more upscale and pricey, but absolutely delicious. I have a few things, but the Bone in Filet and the Veal Nunzio are worth every penny, I highly recommend then. Enjoy, Im jealous.
Is it your first time in St. louis??
edit: The downtown location is not listed on their website, but the address is 207 N 6th St, It is near the Arch and Busch Stadium. It may be owned by a different faction of the family. I vaguely (possibly imcorrectly) remember reading that Charlie died and his family was fighting over the restaurants, so they may be broken up now.

Yep - other than driving thru last summer, I'm headed there to meet some friends, so first time.
I will note that I'm sad to hear it tops the list now of highest crime city in the USA. Guess that means get off plane and buy mace.
