Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Deisler exploded at veteran goalkeeper Oliver Kahn during a training session on Tuesday.
During a six-a-side practice game, Kahn moaned at his team-mates, yelling "It's much too easy to score here."
The comment sent 26-year-old Deisler over the edge, as he responded furiously: "What do you want from me? What do you want? I'm running myself ragged, my knee hurts, and you are just mouthing off!"
The pair had to be separated by Christian Lell, Roque Santa Cruz und Roy Makaay, while a stunned Kahn muttered "I didn't just mean you," before being led away, shouting "is he mad?"
Coach Felix Magath insisted he was unperturbed by the incident, explaining: "Things we happening between us, that is the way it has to be. Olli simply can't stand losing. I see it positively. It also had it's effect: the whole game improved. And Kahn and Deisler's team went on to win 8-4."
