So who know's who is coming to town this morning? Must be someone politically sensitive as there are cops on every bridge and overhead sign between the Airport and the end of the A9 in Schwabing. ph34r.gif

Be careful where you stop and linger!

Putin, I think *trots off to find a link*

I am near Maxmillian Str, and all around me, I can see swarms of Bavarians in their leather hoses, and madchens in their lovely drindls. Not to mention, some 20 polizei vans.

No news about any "event" on the local papers.

He's going to have supper at the Landgasthaus in Aying but the menu is a secret. Seems he was so impressed by their cooking at the Soccer World Cup events that he expressed a wish to go there.
I wonder if he can manage their Riesenschnitzel.

After eating this for lunch,

Bayerische Entenbrust mit Leberparfait wird gereicht, Krebse mit Kräutersauce und Rehrücken in der Brotkruste.

And then the Riesenschnitzel in the evening, he will soon resemble Yeltsin.
Welcome to Bavaria Mr President!

I heard on the radio this morning that Aying was going to be completely closed down for this visit.

Right now they are blocking off the Prinzregentenstrasse west of the Isar and the Oettingenstrasse right outside my window, so I will get a glimpse of the cavalcade as it speeds by.
Or I'll have lunch.
P.S. Helicopter circling above us now.

I was up at Mohl Strasse this morning and they had about 40 police up and down the cosulates. Not to mention that all traffic was diverted away from the Zentrum. Am sitting in the city now and there are constant hellcpters zooming up above...

hmmmmm - One guess who pays for all this !

this somehow gets me, I for one dont think that we as a people should complain about this. The leader of a country is a representative of the whole nation, if it costs to protect him so be it. S/he is a symbol and if that is destroyed I for one will not only be friggin mad but would seriously doubt my own safety. As for a host nation, you wouldnt want anything to happen as your reputation is at stake here.

Putin was in Dresden yesterday. He visited the Infineon/Qimonda semiconductor site. Had dinner at the Schloss Eckberg last evening near our place. Tons of police and security everywhere! Maybe he is in Munich to visit the Infineon/Qimonda site as they have one there as well? I haven't been reading the news, so just a guess.

I saw Angie taking him through the Grüner Salon (or Grünes Gemach?), made a note to self to visit Dresden again soon.

A couple of - very bad - pics off my moby

At the middle right, two motorcycles waiting in the shade before they went screaming down the street.

The official car, moving so fast that I could hardly gague when to press the button.
