Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and think it is a great way to get into contact with other Brits.
I am only semi British, my father being from Worcester and my mother being German. However, I was brought up bilingually and my wife and I are now trying to do the same with our two children, one aged 2 yrs the other merely 12 wks.

What we would ideally like is contact to a family with similarly aged children that are also being brought up bilingually so as to give our 2-year-old more opportunities to speak English and also to acknowledge she can't always get by on German alone :-)

We live in the East of Hamburg (Wandsbek).

So if there is anyone here that matches my request, I would be very grateful if you contacted me.

Thanks and kind regards from

Daniel

Hi there,

Well, this is really more of a reply for your wife, as I am part of a group of new mothers (english speaking) here in HH. We have babies (all first child) from age 3 weeks to 5 months, with three more on the way. If your wife is interested, we are meeting tomorrow, the 27th at Turnhalle in St. Georg at 12:30. If she can't make it then, she can contact me and I can keep her in touch with further plans.

Best,

Christina

Hello, my boyfriend 30 from Britain (Colchester), our little babyboy Liam (5 months) and me Karola 26 (German) life in Stade and would really like to get in contact with other english speaking families. I dont know whether you know Stade, but its not all that big and we havent found any british families here with kids yet. We would travel to Hamburg...no problem. Looking forward to hear from you all. Thanks. smile.gif

Hello there

Would anyone be interested in starting up a playgroup,my son is 15 months old and I would really like him to interact with other children of similar age, and it would be great for me to also meet new people and swap all Hamburg knowledge. My sister in law has a 3 year old daughter, and she is also interested in meeting other children and parents too. We are scared they are going to become to co-dependant on each other!! Suggested meetings would be firstly in Cafe May in Eimsbuttel and then discussed afterwards.

Anyone interested?

Hello,

my name is Cindy and I´ve got a 5 month old daughter named Lotta. I´m half scots and half german. It would be great to get to know a few other families with kids in Lotta´s age. Maybe I could join the playgroup, if you already started one. My sister is in a singalonggroup in the south of Germany, where I joined her twice - this is also good fun, although not everyone hits the tune.

I would be happy to her from you.

Oh, silly me ... I didn´t read that you first all think of meeting at Cafe May - that´s just around the corner where I life. But we´ll heading off on holiday on Saturday for a week and then we´ll be away from the 1st of May till the following Saturday. So maybe we could manage to meet either between the two holidays or sometime in May?
