Construction on Schellingstraße in Schwabing

Are they done yet?

There has been construction on the corner of Schellingstr and Turkenstr by the Universitat ubahn station for ages. It is blocking an entire lane of traffic. I believe the next street over has construction in a similar place but on Theresienstr. I was wondering if anyone happens to know what exactly they are trying to do and when it is going to be complete.

Yeah it is a total pain, have had to find a new route to work! That is some serious digging. I am told by a friend that it is because they have to lay loads of pipes and cables for the new building that is going up there. Rumour has it will last a while, I might ask next time I go by and let you know.

Normally there is these brown-signs with white writing on it by the city of Munich, where it states what they do and how long it takes (most of the construction sites have them).

Today one of the construction workers was actually impeding traffic by not allowing cars/buses/etc. to actually follow the traffic lights. He was standing in the middle of the intersection trying to direct traffic! I think the bus driver was ready to run him over!

It definitely has been a major inconvenience on my bus route. After sitting on the bus for 15 minutes today without moving I am thinking of changing my route to work also!

Had a look for that sign this morning (and I remembered why I had given up cycling up that street), I do normally see it at other sites, but didn't see it here. The works are spread overa wide space though so maybe it was around somewhere. Was too grumpy and late to ask them, will do better next time.
