Electronic residency card for foreigners

Some countries already give electronic visas tied to the holder's passport number, in many ways it is a lot more convenient than having your passport stamped with a visa, it could also prevent fraud. Anyhow Europe can never accommodate illegal immigrants the way America has and continues to do, heck I live in Miami, plenty of illegals here and no one really cares. My housekeeper is illegal and I don't care, I pay her salary under the table. Even a good number of my patients are illegals(mostly from South America and the Caribbean) but I actually ran into a German living in the US illegally too.

If you live in Miami, why are you on this site claiming to be from Frankfurt. Go back to Miami!

With a response like that you should DEFINITELY go back to Miami, preferably on the next available plane. You are better suited there.

My guess would be that they can't agree on how many copies of the appropriate application must be filed, and with what and how many offices, and how many lines and attempts the foreigner must make before said Ausweis would be granted. Just a guess, mind.

Weren't they also taking about resizing the German PA to credit card size? Maybe they want to introduce a whole new ID which foreigners will also be able to get. Here is hope they will get rid of the shitty format of the Ausweis.
