Thai dinner - Khanittha near Mailingerstrasse

So it's been a few weeks since the last ethnic dinner, and I am personally keen to try out this restaurant. I have been to the other one in Haidhausen with the same name many times and the food is quite excellent. They have the reputation of being the best Thai restaurants in Munich.

So, any interest in going to it some time over the next few weeks?
My suggestions would be for either Tuesday, 17th or Thursday, 26th October - which suits you best?

Would love to Thur 26th is good for me.

I could come if it were Thur 26th, but not on Tues.

Of course being a month away, would have to confirm closer to the time, but have penciled it in my diary.

ok, already looks like we have a trend towards Thurs, 26th (which is better for me too)...I know, it's ages away, I haven't had a decent Thai meal in ages and my mouth is already watering...

it will not be some time in October, it will be 26th, about 19:30 I'd say.

@Carm, no madam, not at the Fest, I am a died-in-the-wool Festmuffel. (edit: oops, make that dyed-in-the wool?)..NOT to be confused with being an Alkoholmuffel. If I didn't note my +1 on this site, I would forget her by the time I came to do the list!

So far I've really only participated in ultimate events, so it'd be nice to meet some more Toytowners. Plus, I love Thai food.

I just checked the map and it's just round the corner from where my first apartment in Munich was! That was 20years ago, I'm amazed it's still there. Not that there was anything wrong with it, far from it, used to go there a lot, but restaurants tend to come and go. Put me down as a definite maybe!

I went Khanittha on Thorwaldstrasse about two weeks ago with some friends. We were all very pleased with the food we ordered. I asked to have mine hot and it sure was hot! Not quite excessive sweat and tears level but heavy sweatting level definately. My friends tried my food and could not eat it.

I'll come along with you guys if my parents have the grace to understand my heavy hinting and leave after one week visit.

@topsy: hmm, there's no actual cut-off date, as if people pull out closer to the time there will of course be room for extras...cut-off relates more to the number. In a couple of weeks though I'll want confirmation (inasmuch as that's possible) so that I can make a first booking at the restaurant..

Since almost everyone else is only definite maybe at this stage, I can put you down too if you like and you can pull out later; from the interest shown so far, I suspect we'll have no trouble getting enough people last minute to fill any vacated spots

@BigMo: probably not so usual, although a certain amount of advance planning is necessary for a large group for some smaller restaurants or you won't be able to get the table.

However, I am an "extreme planner"! And also Thursday tends to be the best day for one-off events, as on most other days there is a regular event...and I can't make 12th or 19th.

I'm a very strong maybe. The only risk is business trips have a habit of popping up last minute for me, and there is one that needs to happen end of October that hasn't been scheduled yet.

If your cancellation policy is forgiving, consider me a yes and I'll try my hardest to avoid a business trip that day.
