Nick Yarris - innocent on death row for 23 years

Right then,

I was listening to Radio 4 this morning and heard the extraordinary story of a man who lived 23 years on death row in America for a crime he didnt commit.

He now is free and innocent and lives in London and has a fabulous new family.

Poor chap, that's a completely shit way to spend 8057 days.

Before you start worshipping this guy as a martyr, you should consider the fact that even if he wasn't a rapist/murderer, he was indeed an armed robber, car thief and drug addict/dealer.
There was a 'misunderstanding' during his arrest (in a stolen car) that also led to an assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon charge. Lies he told (including a confession) during that incarceration led to his being connected with the murder charge he sat so long for. This kind of thing doesn't usually happen to the squeaky-clean.

Not squeaky clean but still over-sentenced.

Prolly over-raped too.

"one of the bravest men on earth"... that's a matter of opinion.
