Right then,
According to the astronomy websites, there's a comet on the way Comet 2006 M4 (SWAN) is on its way to us. Should be visible as I said in the early evening sky in October. Sorry no pics available yet but I managed to download its coords for my free Cartes du Ciel astronomy software. If anyone is ineterested I can plot it later...

Breaking News! The comet is now visible in decent binoculars! It has recently flared up and is a bluish colour.
If anyone wants me to I can plot the position for Thursday night.

Any chance we will be able to see it with the naked eye ? Binoculars where i live in a complex of multi storeys would excite uncommon interest

Here you go. The comet is ringed. Position is for tomorrow. Follow the plough handle back downwards to a constellation called Böotes then on to the U shape Corona Borealis.
Good luck!

Frau Bug: am not exactly dressed for the occasion right now. I have a black woolly hat on amd a cheap cycling jacket from Aldi which is so cheap I only use it fro garden work like handling large quantities of manure!

It's "Ms. Bug" and the party is not until tonight (i.e. the 26th) - so you have plenty of time to change and clean out the manure!!!
