The persons killed were either members of the bakery family or worked in the bakery. The rescue crew is still looking for missing persons but have no hope to find them alive.
Shortly before the explosion occurred people had smelled gas and called the fire department - a tank of natural gas belonging to the inn next to the bakery was leaking. The fire department was trying to disperse the gas cloud with water when the tank exploded. The explosion could be heard in a circumfrence of 25 km, several buildings in the surroundings were severely damaged.

This will probably cause lots of agony and anger in the community where everyone knew everyone else and the inn owner will be blamed for the catastrophe.

I drove through Lehrberg this morning and it was cetainly a big explosion. The entire building was crashed to the ground. Quite a tragedy for such a small village.
