Here's the news before even the news has got it!
Yep, schon wieder! Tried to get home today to be told that there were no trains in either direction from Remagen as they had found a suitcase without an owner at Remagen train station (on the train line that runs parallel on the other side of the Rhine to the one on which they found one of the bombs a few weeks ago). Still don't know yet if it was a real bomb or not. Took me 2 and a half hours to get home as trains were eventually put back on to Oberwinter and then had to get a taxi from there.
Why oh why, when I've had a bad day, does it end like this?

little known fact, 'die bruecke von remagen' starred george segal and robert vaughn, guest starring eg marshall and is a classic wwii movie. the gerrys tried, unsuccessfully, to blow the bridge up to halt the allied advance in '45 and looks like they're trying to do it again! however, it did fall into the rhein a few days after the failed attempt, a bit too late for robert vaughn and hitler's boys. who were they trying to stop this time?
sorry, just saw remagen and had to go check through my collection. (might go and watch it now as my son is screaming the house down and i'm sure he'd like to hear some 'real' noise!)

Well, if they start closing down half the network because someone forgot their shopping in some tiny backwater somewhere, then we can forget about relying on DB to get us anywhere on time.
It's happened twice in Munich over the last month. Some guy is leaving backpacks on the train. Of course they have to shut everything down and check it out. Causes great inconvenience to the rest of us but he's having a good laugh at our expense. As far as I know they haven't caught him yet.
Always the same guy? Is this a news story that I've missed?
AFAIK it's only happened twice and they're pretty sure it's the same guy.

quite possibly. It was all over the local newspapers and the Süddeutsche.
