I know we lost last week... but I don't give up that easily. Does anyone know where a group of irish alums can watch the game next saturday? I am assuming the arc, but I didn't see the game listed.

I can't think of anything better than a weekend of oktoberfest and notre dame football!!
mere
i can think of HEAPS of things loads better than ND football (that being said same for ND in general) smile.gif

I was iin the Arc when this game was played last week. I was having a chat with an Irish bloke and we got a bit stumped with the whole Irish thing. University is USian, Notre Dame is French...how does the Irish thing fit in??
Owain Glyndwr
irish cafflicks, timmeh.
Timmeh
Fucking Cafflicks with their fingers in all the pies, football, family planning, kiddie fiddling...the list is endless.

Games are often not listed. That doesn't mean we can't or won't show it. It owes more to the fact that I am not American and don't know what games people will want to see. If you are keen to watch something, then it's best you shoot me a PM telling me what game you want to watch and at what time/date it's on.

I checked the schedule of what is available on this night and Notre Dame are playing against Michigan State (I assume this Purdue?). Unfortunately the game doesn't start until 2am. If you get enough people in to watch this game, and have a few drinks then we can show it. If it's just 1 or 2 people who fall asleep on the couch in the 1st quarter (and nobody else is around at this time) then we can't stay open for it.

Games on during reasonable times can be shown if there are any TV's available - even to just 1 person.

So get your friends together and we can show it...

Thanks, yeah I am over in Weil am Rhein, by Basel. But I will be there the weekend of 30th. The game should be on around 18:30... so no falling asleep on couches..haha. I'll have at least 5 irish girls with me, and hopefully we can convince more german fans wink.gif But thanks for the heads up, and hopefully it won't conflict with one of the rugby games or anything.

We'll see you in week or so.

(oh, and it was the french Holy Cross brothers who founded the school way back in 1837... so a little french, with the drinking mentality of the irish)

and mere, you would rather purdue won? i'm assuming you have some other fav in the midwest... but come on.
mere
i strongly dispise ND. goes back generations in my fam (seriously) smile.gif

I'll stand with mere on this one. Big Ten first, although I must admit that ND vs Michigan is always a tough one since they are both schools of satan.
perdido
Big Ten Small Ten..whatever. Fact is UT won the national championship last year , and if was not for a certain cornerback's (I dont know whose pot, and pistol that is officer) arrest we would have won that Ohio game. wink.gif
Joliet Jake
Last year?? What have you done for me lately? Oh, yes, you've LOST to Ohio State. laugh.gif
zard
Ok, did somebody on this thread confuse Michigan and Michigan State? BIIIG difference.

Michigan is not a school of Satan. It is a football and academic powerhouse. Joliet Jake clearly just has sour grapes, or he is confusing Michigan with OSU.

I am an alum of Michigan, UT and Northwestern, but my heart will always go blue. Let's face it, that burnt orange school color makes for a pretty ugly t-shirt, and NU is always hopeless...

But anyway is this game televised on regular German tv or only on Satellite? Anybody recording it by any chance??
Joliet Jake
Had to go to UT and Northwestern to reverse and fix the Michigan education did you? tongue.gif

By the way, before Eurovol pipes in, you need to clarify your UT's around here wink.gif
Hazza
It's not on regular German TV - no College football ever is.

NASN which is available through Kabel Deutschland have some games, but not this one.

We can show this game live at The Arc, but unfortunately we can't tape it.
prijks
Wow, there's a lot of ND haters on TT. smile.gif

I'm a domer myself (class of '00) and will come to any ND game shown anywhere in Munich -- provided I'm in town. I will be in town for the Purdue game, so I hope to see you guys there.

Go Irish!

UT in my case = University of Texas at Austin. I thought the "burnt orange" crack would give it away. Hook 'em horns etc.

ok, I just checked, and it looks like Michigan-Notre Dame was actually last week (16th) anyway! Apparently we kicked their asses despite ND having been ranked #2 in the country going in to the game.
This week it was actually Michigan STATE playing ND, which managed a skin-of-their-teeth win by returning an interception for a touchdown with 3 minutes left...
