this whole squad stinks of desperation by ginger sven.

on his way out.
Sin
We hope.
bluedave
I don't want to pay the price of non qualification though to get the bugger out !
Sin
Bluedave, give me a monkey and tell me I have to bet on either they will or they won't qualify and I know where I'd put the money. It's a bloody national disgrace. We've got all that talent and they're useless. Germany can go places with a bunch of twats. It's called 'team-building'. You've got regular England players running away from playing for their country and rumours that McGinga don't know what he's doing (which is plainly obvious to anybody who knows anything about footie). State - Rotten- Denmark, mate.
Lifeisabuffet
Ballack bites the dust.
bluedave
I understand and share your frustration Sin mate but the simple facts of the matter are that none of the top bosses wanted the job did they?

If we sack the Ginga, who says we are going to now attract someone who knows what they are about, given Lancaster Gate's track record in hiring good candidates?
Sin
Well agreed mate. The FA eventually has to foot the blame... and the shorter this muppet's tenure the greater the chance. We need a manager who can mould a team out of the quality we have. We need a manager that can rotate when players are on and off form IRRESPECTIVE of who that player is. Most of all we need a Team, irrespective of the players. It's been dire under McGinga and no fun to watch. I really don't think we'll qualify. Of course I want us to. I just can't see it with the current approach... irrespective of the players.
Johnny M
Sorry Sin, but every time I see your user name it just triggers of the NIN in me. So maybe the whole disappointment of being an English fan (moi!) and watching other fans celebrating winning European/World Championships is best summed up as:

Something I Can Never Have sad.gif
Sin
NIN?
Crawlie
Nine Inch Nails?
Johnny M
Ooops! Sorry! Yes, Nine Inch Nails were on my headphones as I typed. "Sin" and "Something I Can Never Have" being two of their more famous songs. If you're a NIN fan. Or summat.

Apologises for going off-topic.

Ah!

As in, Ah!

Wenger signs new deal

Good news I guess, although in some ways I would have liked to see him as the next England manager.
DJ_Jazzy_Guff
I'm glad Wenger will be staying at that wretched club with their vile fans. They deserve each other. Come on the Accrington Stanley! edit: AKA Tot-ting-ham!

Goal of the season contender by Elano from a free kick for Man City !!

Don't suppose Sin will be too interested in reading this post . . .

Not really. It's a waste of space cup for the little teams to go after.

Or do you have any other logical explanation why we fielded Kuszczak, Bardsley, Evans, Pique, Simpson, Nani, Martin, O'Shea, Eagles, Dong and Anderson? Even Wes Brown didn't make the starting line-up FFS.
bluedave
Anyone taking City seriously yet?
kaiserf
Soon to be the big 5.

One other thing -

I wanted to bring something up - there is an online footie management game called xpert11 that you can play for free - all you need is an internet connection, web browser, and maybe 10 minutes of spare time a week. It is a relatively simple, but very addictive game. Imagine something like fantasy footie mixed with the championship manager games (but without all the excruciating detail/time investment) and that sums it up pretty well. You don't have to be present for the games, just show up whenever, set your line-up and tactics and the game rolls on.

I have a premium membership there, so I could establish a TT league and serve as commissioner. The minimum league size is 6, so we would only need 5 other TT members to get one started up - if more want to join that wouldn't be a problem at all. I thought I would post here to gauge interest and see if I should make a full blown post out of this. I'll also cross post it to the fontasy football thread. PM me or post in either thread if you are interested.

Remember, it is free, fun, and doesn't take much time. Check it out at www.xperteleven.com

Anyone see the Sunderland match yesterday, I was lucky enough to be at it, some stadium.

But my point was the mcshane sending off, a total disgrace, the guy literally fell over on to hleb and got sent of, everyone thinks he went for him!! Trust me as an Irish man Mcshane is too stupid to think about doing something like that. I hope it gets revoked anyway!
sharpe
I also heard the offside call was not correct
Jimbo
That offside was very very close indeed. Personally I thought it was - IIRC Shearer thought it wasn't.
Komland
Bolton drawn against Bayern Munich in UEFA Cup

And Everton to play Nürnberg...
Jimbo
And Spurs against Tel Aviv - YID ARMY!
Sin
A two-leg home tie it is then. laugh.gif

Lower league gossip for you boys now.
Who says the Football League don't have it in for certain teams.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ted/7041186.stm

Surely this is a situation that could and should be avoided?
If he has a stinker and we lose our 100% home record as a result, then the guy is branded as having a vendetta.
If he somehow favours Leeds, which is highly unlikely, people will say he overcompensated, who really wins either way.
A complete No Win, No Win situation.
2 weeks ago two men sent off, Manager sent to the stand, by a referee from London, at a Gillingham game, close enough for you!
No common sense, it almost smacks of deliberately courting controversy, just to prove yes, "We the lunatics, do really run the Asylum, and there is nothing you can do about it!"
Time for the Exterminators to sweep through 30 Gloucester Place.
3 Lions
Sammy Lee leaves Bolton.
Inevitable really. Another case of a good coach not being able to make the step up to manager.
bluedave
And the mighty blues roll on ! 2nd place, god i love this season up to now. biggrin.gif
Schotte
less of ur mighty blues chat. >:-(
Sin
3:0?

Ouch! laugh.gif

Top of the Scottish league must feel like being top of the Stevenage under-16 Tiddlywinks B-league. ph34r.gif
Sin
I see Staunton's just walked.

Does this set a good example for McGinga?
Sin
Sparky to replace Jol at Spurs?
3 Lions
Even if/when Russia win in Israel next month, McClaren will still not walk. Even though he'd be given hell at the Croatia game.

I feel sorry for ROI, they've had over the last 18 years some very worthy managers, there is no way McCarthy should have been fired, not even Brian Kerr. Who do your FA pick...a ex player with no managerial experience whatsoever.
Sin
This should please bluedave: I'm reading reports that a little Thai will give SGE a bag of dosh for the January transfer window and all of a sudden he's talking up the prowess of SWP. I reckon the boy could be heading back for more first team action.
Sin
News from White Hart Lane: Word up is that Jol will be gone in the morning and Juande Ramos is coming in.

EDIT: Clive Allen and Gus Poyet take the reigns until Ramos is installed. Jol gets severance.

EDIT: Oh shit! Now they're 2:1 down.
bluedave
Just saw that myself, Jol is basically fucked.
bluedave
Jol has resigned.
Sin
Told ya!

BBC Sport transfer rumour:

QUOTE
Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has made it clear he would like to bring Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips back to Eastlands. (various)

Told ya, told ya!
3 Lions
I dont think thats much of a secret, a SWP return to Citeh has been on the cards since the day he first left. Now my prediction that Sven would be their next manager was a definite told ya, told ya moment. Now if he goes on nad wins silverware for them, I'll be kicking myself for not backing them at 66-1 for the FA Cup!!
Lassie
QUOTE (bluedave @ Oct 25 2007, 10:55 pm) *

hee hee hee.

according to the Times Ramos isn't coming til end of the season. which means he could well be managing a championship club. awesome. made my day that has.
Sin
Was Jimbo last seen wearin' a black armband?

@3 Lions, knowin' your luck City would probably win the other cup instead of the one you wagered on. wink.gif
Jimbo
No, I'm here - gutted, but still here. Jol was a good bloke and we treated him like shit - I'm not happy about that at all. As to Ramos next season, another article in The Times predicted him to be with us sooner - or indeed somebody else different. *cough* Mourinho *cough*. I reckon Ramos, before Xmas.

@Lassie - we'll no more be a Championship side come May '08 than you'll be Premiership champions.
sharpe
Who has the loudest fans in the Premier League? Sunderland roar to the top with Fulham sitting at the bottom.
