Reds fans labelled Europe's worstQUOTE
A damning report by European football's governing body says Liverpool fans are the worst-behaved in Europe.
Hmm... Crawlie, XabiAlonso... need I say more?

Who else is a European threatening Scouse fan? Pepper? Moonboot?

Amazing stuff.
"The two groups of supporters have a tradition of good behaviour and at this point we are expecting that to continue."

"The incidents involving Liverpool fans have been well known to us before the trouble at the Champions League final which involved Liverpool fans last week."
William Gaillard, 3rd June 2007 (source

Breathtaking.
Some of our fans behaved appallingly - robbing tickets from an arl fella is bang out of order, and I've never been a fan of the bunking in on euro aways culture because it's at best dishonest and at worst downright dangerous - but this is a pretty outrageous smear campaign designed to deflect attention from the organisation being a shambles.
"Worst fans in Europe" is a pretty strong label to throw at someone, and I hope he's planning on going public with these 25 incidents or however many it is because (as the above quote indicates) he never had a problem with us before Athens.

Ranieri resigns at Parma. Looks like our new manager is decided then. I think we could do a lot worse to be fair.
Ranieri is going to Juventus. Just heard it on BBC.
I really couldn't see him being daft enough to go to...

The only way I can see that Souness gets these jobs is that he's in the Masons, there is no other explanation. Same goes for Bryan Robson aswell.

You should look to Belgium for your new manager. They have the right little people in the right colour.

Not been an American in charge of a Premier side yet
If i'm correct there has only been one American coach of a league side which was Chester City and he was also the owner.
Sad postscript to the season was he took them down out of the football league iirc

Real Madrid tries to get Beckham back, but fails.
Capello:
QUOTE
The truth is that with him we made a mistake. Beckham is a great player. Now he is playing at the same level as he did at Manchester (United).
He is a player that has recovered his physical and psychological condition because he was upset not to be playing with his national team.
So there's one more thing that's all McClaren's fault.
People Blame Steve McClaren for the demise of the English national side but the problem is not him its Brian Barwick the chairman of the FA who cocked up with Scolari and it was he who appointed McClaren and would he pass on the chance to manage his country-I think not.
I am also a bit worried by all this Beckham mania he just want's to be the lead actor of a long running soap opera. Real Madrid have played better with out this season and it has been RVN who has done the buisiness. Some people have short memories just look at the last world cup what did he do? and the famous blame the turf penalty miss against Portugal in Euro 2004 . How long do we have to put up with the dips in form and Grand re-entrances (and new haircut against teams like Estonia just so he can keep his name in the lights?-Well done Steve, drop him again

Do you actually watch football or just read The Sun?
Check out his last two performances for England and tell me that he was not a good addition to the team. I think the good thing that comes out of this is that Beckham has realised that he is not a certain pick any more and must fight for his place like any other team member. If he underperforms then he will be dropped, just like anyone else.
He HAS been part of the Madrid revival this year and has put in some very good performances since the problems back in January. All credit to the guy for this. He could have just done a Ballack and not bothered to play before the transfer (ask any Bayern Munich fan about his conduct in the run up to his Chelsea transfer. They will give you the full story)

Brian Barwick should take part of the blame, he made the whole selection process a mockery. I still dont believe we'll qualify. We'll come unstuck against Croatia and Russia.
BLT - You talk about Beckham being dropped again? Are you insane, three out of the four goals we have recently scored have been set up by him. Why was he dropped in the first place? We all know our midfield problem lies with Lampard and Gerrard not being able to play together and that one should be dropped, has McClaren had the courage to leave one of them out? answer NO!
Why has Beckham been subbed in the past couple of games? His performances certainly warrant a full 90 minutes. What is McClarens problem?
McClaren wanted to make a mark in the job, he was last choice for the job afterall and dropping Beckham was the easiest way of doing so.
No Crawlie I don’t read The Sun or any other Red Top . But the Sunday Times says Becky has scored 13 goals in 119 games for Madrid now for a midfielder / dead ball specialist is that good enough? Brazil friendly and Estonia (no goals scored in prevoius 7 games or is it more?) , do they count? . And what now with half his life spent flying all over the planet and plying his trade in the Disney League. You have to plan for the future and McClaren is trying to do and all Becks wants to do his keep himself in Hello magazine. He tried the same with Fergie and look what happened.
I just read the Indepedent and guess what? Becks has ankle injury and will not take part in Real Madrid's final trainning session!
Joliet Jake

One could argue that being dropped from the squad helped spur Beckham to pick up his game. McClaren's obviously a genius at motivation tactics.

That is just disgusting, dispicable behaviour. He should be thrown out of the game for it. I mean, really, why should a footballer give his all in a game if that is what happens to him eh? Terrible.
As 3 Lions said. The midfield problems lies quite obviously with Gerrard and Lampard. Play one or the other but certainly not both. So they are big names and consistently perform well for their respective clubs but just including big names in the England team does not guarantee success

What? Planning for his imminent retirement from managing the national squad is he?

Lads! Beckham had shown enough in the Brazil friendly to be taken off and rested ahead of the Estonia qualifier. He picked the knock to his ankle up against Estonia and was substituted because of injury.
I was also one of those callin' for his head on a silver platter after the World Cup debaclé. But, fair's fair, he made the difference against Estonia. I'm torn between wanting McClaren to go, and qualifying.
QUOTE (Crawlie @ Jun 13 2007, 10:07 pm)

The midfield problems lies quite obviously with Gerrard and Lampard.
Ah! Well! You see, on the one hand you've got an all-out attacking midfielder with a never-say-die mentality, and on the other you've got an attacking midfielder lacking self-confidence, but does have a remarkable ability to put balls right on to the stadium roof on a consistent basis.
It's obvious who sits on the bench, isn't it?
