Gawn you shrimpers!
Haven't been to a Sarfend game since the last time they played Boro. Still chuffed for them.

Ex-England football star Paul Gascoigne has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

toys.

Sky are reporting that some managers have been betting on results...one manager is reported to have bet 12 million...do they earn that? not sure that even chelsea, man poo or arsenal pay that kind of money
bluedave
Looks like McLaren isn't totally blind, or he has good scouts . .

Micah Richards to get the call

I dunno if i'm just proud as a City fan or worried that the likes of Chelsea will really start trying to nick him now unsure.gif
Expat Mat
Is he really that good? I haven't watched him play that much.
bluedave
He's very strong on the ball and amazing in the air BUT he is still a teenager and has lots to learn yet.
Lassie
If he was that good he would be playing for a proper team, oder?
bluedave
Grrrrrrrrrrr mad.gif
Mik Dickinson
Give em time and then he will go to a succesfull team.May even go across the city to that other famous North West team .Accrington Stanley !!!

City should sell him, or at least I hope they do. He's a product of the Latics youth system and we stand to get about a million if he gest sold...and we need the money more than you greedy premiership snobby twats!! tongue.gif
Wibble
I'm surprised he's being called up rather than Leighton Baines who has played pretty well for the U21's and Wigan recently.

Still, McClaren has no idea what he's doing. He's just throwing in some new faces to prove that he can shake the squad up a bit (and Cole is suspended for the next Euro qualifier). Shame he can't motivate players for shit though.
Mik Dickinson
Wibble sorry to disagree here but did MacClaren not bring his club team back twice from a 3 - 0 deficit.Once i could say was lucky but twice???
Wibble
He did that by sending them out with shit or non existant tactics. When losing badly he would stick on 5 strikers and usually against more mediocre teams it would work as he had some fairly decent strikers at Boro.

However it failed miserably against a reasonably decent team culminating in utter humiliation against Sevilla. If tactics is all about sending out a team with no real plan and then when you are getting thumped chucking on loads of strikers then anyone could manage a football team.

Do I hear McLaren for Newcastle job? laugh.gif

Good win for the Toon yesterday!!

Chant of the day

"You're just a fat Maradona" to Tevez!!

If we play like that week in week out, we will be top 4 or 5 at the end of the season.

The only way to be top 4 or 5 playing like that is if you pay against WH in your remaining matches.
Wee Mun
Yup, haven't played like that since, and it is looking like a bottom 4 or 5 right now!
bluedave
OK, the game is about to start. So, is it Roeder for the long walk or Psycho for the vote of confidence ? huh.gif
Scogs
They are both good mates, I can see this being a draw, but have been wrong before
bluedave
City started the brighter of the two with the early chances but you can see the nerves in both teams.
Sin
Is this the game Barton gets sent off?
Scogs
seriously dodgy Newcastle defence, man city had a real striker they would have been 2 up at least
bluedave
Half time and Roeder will be happy to get in 0-0 i'm sure. At one point possession and territory was 70/30 in City's favour.
Sin
bluedave, there's this thing with two white upright posts and a white bar linking them over the top. We calls it a goal. wink.gif
bluedave
bollocks, disallowed goal sad.gif Graham Poll strikes again mad.gif
bluedave
If this was a boxing match it would've been stopped but you know what's gonna happen, it's gonna be won by a slutchy goal in et by Newcastle innit ? unsure.gif
bluedave
0-0, lucky bastards dry.gif
Scogs
Newcastle only started playing in the last 5 minutes, and shows that city really need a striker, lots of chances but no killer instinct

Oh,oh, we´d better watch out in the Quarter Finals then...
Lassie
Looks like the Arsenal rediscovered the ability to score! biggrin.gif

Liverpool looked pretty weak to be honest - I think they'll struggle to get in the Champions League next season.

So, we're third, game in hand, back on form - I think second is a distinct possibility. It pains me to say that I still think Man Utd will win it this season. sad.gif
pepper
Liverpool were exceptionally poor, they all seemed to develop nose bleeds venturing past the half way line. As for the team selection, shocking ! Pennant should have been there from the start, and as for speedy Gonz... wish he would run off somewhere else and allow the real players to play. Liverpool seem to becoming more and more a cup team.

Agree, if they continue like this, they are going to have huge problems later.
XabiAlonso
It was the same story we saw against the Bitters, against Chavsea and against the Mancs - start off well enough, look quite comfortable if not overly threatening, then a moment of stupidity and we're a goal down and you can see confidence draining from the players. The subsequent capitulation was very embarrassing.

In fairness, we've been through seasons where we've lost away to the Bitters, Chavsea, Arsenal and Mancs and no one's really noticed, because those games have been spread across ten months of the season rather than packed into the first three. But the failure to pick up a single point from those games (or even a goal FFS) means we haven't been able to get any momentum going at all and as a result our league season's fvcked in November.
Crawlie
I think it is also the fact that we have won, what, one game away from home all season? Appalling form. Absolutely appalling

The moment of "stupidity" against Chelsea was Drogba scoring a wonder goal. You can hardly be blamed for buying shite like Craig "come and have a go then" Bellamy, and that reject Pennant instead of a decent player or two...
bluedave
and ermmm Robbie Fowler . . . . laugh.gif
pepper
@Don - Actually Pennant is better than other players in the squad, and when he came on, he did actually make a difference. As for Bellamy, its early days. Some players need some time, and not all clubs can pay 3 times what the player really is worth, just to stick him on the bench. Its not like you cannot say that Chelski have not bought a bad player or two, its just Liverpool do not pay as much as Chelski would for shite.

Sorry. Pennant is shit. If he is so good then why start Gerrard out right and leave him on the bench? Surely if he is the "specialist" in the field then he should be starting, leaving Gerrard to play the central midfield role. Nope. Sorry. Bad buy

Early days? He is a aggressive little shit who has the talent to be a zemi-decent player but never will fulfil that potential as he is more interested in nobbling his opponents. He is talented in missing absolute fucking sitters and generally not really contributing much. We should never have bought him. Ever. The sooner he fucks off the better - it certainly will not weaken our attacking line up

And so the first Premiership Manager to be axed...

Dowie leaves Charlton.
bluedave
Fucking idiots ! mad.gif 12 games ? blink.gif What do these Chairmen think they are doing ?
Crawlie
Not a surprise if you ask me. Charlton has looked pretty hopeless all season and I guess it was only a matter of time.
Mik Dickinson
Bellamy is fucking brill look what he did at Blackburn. Now i see why they get managers in that know what they are doing instaed of listening to the so called experts

About bleedin time. Latics are live on Sky on Fri 1st December in the 2nd Round of the FA Cup

Fri 1st Dec - Kings Lynn vs Oldham Athletic 8pm KO

Think I'll be at the Arc for that game. (Just need to remind Hazza of this nearer the time).

We're on the march with Sheridans Army...
We're all going to Wembley
And we'll really shake em up
When we win the FA Cup
Cos Oldham are the greatest football team!! biggrin.gif
XabiAlonso
Speaking of the Latics:

"theatre fans across Oldham will get the fright of their lives when Latics defender Chris Hall takes to the stage in a production of the Full Monty. Punters will have to part with £10 to catch a glimpse of what his team-mates see every week for free."

From today's Fiver. blink.gif

Bumped into 3 Lions on the U-Bahn going to the Messe this morning. He kept on blabbering about something to do with Kings Lynn, and would I be coming out to watch it.

I gotta wash somebody's hair.

Dunno who yet.

I'll find somebody.

Not really gossip but one of those moments in football that makes me feel all warm inside. So. ManPoo v Sheffield. Christiano "The Magic fairy" Ronaldo standing totally unmarked in the centre about 3 yards out. The cross comes in fairly gently from Giggs and along the ground but perfectly directed straight at Ronaldo. Goalkeeper is totally stranded and he has the simple task of tapping in to make it 3:1 to ManPoo. The "man" duly delivers a classic moment and puts it well over the bar.. Oh how the fans laughed. We will be seeing this one again and again and again and again...
bluedave
United all over Celtic up to now, 1st goal can't be long surely ? huh.gif
Scogs
yes BD Celtic have the best dead ball player in the world...as demonstrated
bluedave
I don't care cos i don't like either side mate but at the time i posted it was totally one sided.

Well done to the arse though for stuffing Hamburg again.
Crawlie
Well done to Celtic. Brilliant free kick and just as brilliant penalty save. Celtic through to the knockout stages and ManPoo now with a chance to fail at the first hurdle for the second time in as many years... It almost brings a tear to my eye
Scogs
Celtic fan here so stuffing Man Poo and qualifying for next round makes me happy smile.gif
good penalty laugh.gif even better keeper wink.gif
