We are a German family, living in a castle near Munich. We have 4 children (3,5,12 and 13 years old) and two people who help us with the housework. Now we are looking for a native English speaking "Mary Poppins". Are you affectionate, creative, powerful and do you love children? We offer you an attractive full-time live-in position. We are looking forward to your reply.

Call (089) 12 16 21 79.

someone PLEASE take this job and give us regular updates on the lifestyles of the oozy rich and famous...just imagine our own TT Upstairs-Downstairs blog.

"you just sing a little song, and *snap*: The job's a game!" Just a spoon full of sugar, etc.

Doesn't Mary Poppins remain celebit though? Maria becomes the new Mother. I don't think they are wanting that. ph34r.gif

Who wants to be a live in nanny that can't have boys over?

erdbeere
maybe i'll apply for the job just tp go visit their castle incase they want an interview or sumfin biggrin.gif

And their social status makes them good people?

How American can an advert be?

Wanted: Someone to clean my Ferrari (and then my small penis too)

Something has to be said for people that need to say the 'castle' bit.

Curiosity got the better of me.

A reverse lookup on the telephone number revealed nothing.

So I dialled the number. Wasn't sure what I was going to say if anyone answered, but luckily no one did. The answer phone said, in German, "thankyou for calling Starkids Kinderbetreuung, please leave a message".

I left no message but instead did an internet search for "Starkids München" and found:

Starkids Kinderbetreuung
Tulbeckstr. 6, Munich
http://www.starkids.info

Starkids is a Munich based agency for the care of kids from toddlers to teenagers.

Starkids caters to parents who work in the film, media, music, fashion, and sport industries as well as those with hectic and unconventional lifestyles.

So it seems genuine alright.

Yeah, but a castle doesn't mean anything here. It could simply be a old, large house with a turret or two.
Badger
Nah, a German wouldn't call that a castle. Villa, maybe. Castle to us is more a bit of a fortress. Anyway, if this Starkids thing is behind this, maybe the family didn't write the ad but the agency is. Or the family doesn't even EXIST. The agency just created this ad in order to attract wannabe Mary Poppinses who would like to work for that sort of people in general - the rich etc. And then they trap them and force them into hard labour in their exclusive kindergarden. ph34r.gif

HELP? How much housework requires the "help" of four juvenile workers AND two adults? And now they want another! They must really have a castle! Aren't there any laws in Germany about making 3 and 5-year old children work in a dank, dreary old castle? I, for one, am outraged!
