OK, so I'm exhausting the options... but I'm off on holiday now for 1 week, and thought I'd give people plenty of notice this time..

Let's make the most of the summer! cool.gif

Is anyone up for any of the above, or perhaps something else?

BBQ @ Studentenstadt English Gardens 23rd (B4 your GNO) then Italy the next w/e gets my vote.
JoolyBooly
Yippee! So the first weekend we chill and booze, the second we burn it off again... will change the poll...
VDB
Well, I'm always up for something. But at the moment there are a little too much options... I can't choose
JoolyBooly
I'm working on it!

Pootle, help! How can I get a poll which says

1) 24th July w/e: on Friday GNO & BNO, Saturday grilling/picnic by lake, Sunday day hike in Garmisch (Höllentalklamm, my fave, easy train trip)

2) 31st July: cars or train/bus down to Italy, I suggest Lake Garda. There's a great Youth hostel in the town centre in Riva del Garda, also camping, and it's great for walking, climbing, windsurfing, or just sitting on the beach and eating ice cream biggrin.gif

It really depends on the weather. And lake Constance is bigger, easier to reach and cheaper as well. Okay, It's not Italy though...
Just an idea, but if you just wanna do

than Lake Constance is a very good place. (And you can do day travels to Switzerland and Austria)
VDB
just remebered that I have visitors in Munich the weekend of the 31st, so I won't be able to join you.

I've stayed at that youth hostel in Riva twice. It's a really nice place and it's directly in the centre of town. The only problem is that you basically have to drive to get there...train and bus are a pain in the ass. There is some sweet climbing options directly from Riva also...and the Tremalzo mountain bike route is famous too. I might join you guys...we'll see.

wink.gif I agree, let's wait until I get back from Austria (19th) and see how many people are interested, who has a car, etc... if we have enough cars we can do Garda (I'm with Canuck on that one, the walks and climbs rock), and if not we could do Konstanz or even have a party and pedalo fight at Chiemsee

I could rent a van (or VW Sharon) for the weekend...would need to split costs a little though.

Bodensee is nice, but comparable to Gardasee it aint. Did a week of klettersteigs in the Gardasee region over easter, great place, great klettersteigs. Would also recommend the dolomites, they are closer (3 hours).

Sounds good. Just got back from the states. What are the details. What do I need to bring, etc.
